Chapter 445 - Chapter 42: Planning

Little did I know that a certain assassin had already started on her long path to one day confront one of the leading figures of the Reinford Group, Franz Reinford. The games never stated exactly what year the attack happened that eventually claimed Franz's life, only to get taken over by Black Alberich. But Sharon becoming a maid of the Reinford Group doesn't take place until S1196. Isola's attack on Black Alberich happens shortly before that in S1195.

Right now, Kreuger, or Sharon in the future, is planning her attack, and won't launch it on Franz until the time is ripe. She immediately noticed that Franz was no normal fellow.

That all happened within the span of the day. And well, as for me, I enjoyed a nice, long sleep. Father had intended on a weapon demonstration after the battle with the Cryptid ended. But seeing as I was tuckered out for the remainder of the day, he put those plans on hold. The night studies also resulted in the same. Thankfully my Daily Quest was complete, so I could afford to do such. I'll need to make sure to complete today's Daily Quest though.

I don't know if I ever went into what I was doing, have I? In the morning, I would do my Daily Quest, focusing on training my stamina and running. It was all I could do. The Daily Quest currently doesn't focus on my other stats. Weapon training hasn't officially started yet, but I suspect it will by the time S1190 happens. I should have developed enough stamina to train other portions of my body. You can't do much without that, haha!

And apart from that, I study history and politics in the evening. Most of this does get covered in various school curriculums, yes. But I'm still part of a well-respected background. Being the firstborn son of a military general does carry its own pressure. Rean has it much easier. He can goof around more, though he does show interest in what I read from time to time. I've already gotten accustomed to speaking full sentences too, let alone read. Since the tech in this world won't really kick off until one more year down the road with the Orbal Network Project, reading has become a pastime of mine. In the coming years, we'll develop Combat Orbments in the shape of phones, both available to the public and private industries. Laptops and computers do exist right now, but without the internet, they don't have much use apart from storing data. Not everyone can get their hands on them either.

It is sad to say, but with the lack of technology despite the Orbal Revolution happening, I'm placed in a weird time where I can't enjoy those benefits yet. They'd mostly be distractions anyway, as I'm more focused on my training and studying right now. They'll come, just eventually. And I can't wait for that to happen. Have you ever seen fantasy internet before? Haha!

Father had dumped this busy schedule onto me, instead of Rean. I have to take every advantage of it before all Gehenna breaks loose when the Hundred Days War strikes. It's a ticking time bomb, and it will make our family split apart. In three years or so, shit's going to get real. Real fast. I could forewarn certain people, but would anyone take the words of a little kid seriously? You want the real answer? No. And do I really need to? Not in the slightest. Grandmother's one of the wisest people in all of Liberl, she's sat on that throne for decades for a good reason. She's already likely preparing to respond, and I'm sure His Imperial Majesty thinks the same.

I won't be sitting in the dark now. I have a rough plan in action once these events start to kick off. Lots of confusion will spread throughout Western Erebonia, and I will take advantage of that in my own way. I will quite literally enter the lion's den. Not through the noble route. I plan to walk a different route. I plan to get "abducted" by a secretive group that rejects the existence of the Goddess Aidios. They're the lowest of the low, even lower than those hidden assassin organizations like the Moonlight Horse. Even worse than Ouroboros. They perform horrendous experiments no matter the cost to achieve their goals.

I will enter the DG Cult.

Doing so will allow me to encounter some individuals that you normally can't come across until the events already finish. The first being Renny Hayworth, aka Renne Bright. The second being Tio Plato. I'm pretty sure there are others too, so it may be worthwhile trying to encounter them all. And potentially shed a little bit of light in their respective situations.

These characters do get split up into different lodges, and hopefully depending on how things go, I'll end up in one of them. But the real question is, do I feel compelled to save them? I will only be five or six at the time, so trying to save them is pretty unlikely. I mostly want to be by their side, alleviating part of what they deal with down there inside those lodges. Let's just say it's so bad, I refuse to even talk about it. If you can imagine such scenarios, it will likely happen. And if I throw myself inside the DG Cult, I'll be subjected to those experiments too, no doubt.

The DG Cult has some of the worst people you can imagine in the entire continent. They reject Goddess Aidios herself, and worship demons and devils. The battle yesterday shed some light on this. The Zemurian Continent isn't the only world out there. Different planes exist, and fantasy creatures such as angels and devils bleed into this world from time to time. Some in the form of Cryptids. When a Cryptid "returns home", they simply return to their respective "plane".

I will point out one thing too. In Sky the 3rd, Kevin's squad will come across what's called the 77 Devils. As his party worked their way down the various strata of Phantasma, they encountered more and more of these Devils along the way. If I were to put this concept from my previous life, it'd be like rejecting the belief of Jesus Christ, and believing the leader of the devils, Satan. I won't open that can of worms, I'm just providing an example here.

What I will say instead is that dark stuff you can imagine, does actually happen inside the DG Cult. Sacrifices. Rituals. Experimentation. All for the better belief of what those cultists believe in. They're inhumane to the point that they push actuality to the extreme. They use science and orbal tech. They could even hack devices in the coming future with ease, and develop otherworldly drugs. You'd know the name as Gnosis.

No matter who is brought into the DG Cult, they get subjected to that. Tio's situation is similar to Renne's. The experiments might be different, depending on what they test at the time. Tio ends up with sharper senses than most, being able to even sense the flow of mana and the elements at play. She's always the first one to react to the party's surroundings depending on what changes. As for Renne, she receives enhanced cognition, making her brain process at much faster speeds than what a normal human could do. She becomes a walking computer, in a way. On the other hand, Tio eventually joins the Epstein Foundation due to her sharpened mind, and joins the SSS in the process. Renny would denounce her name and become Renne, eventually joining Ouroboros.

And well, I wanted to be there for them. And it's possible I might even encounter other individuals inside the DG Cult. Not just Tio and Renne. The games cover a vast story, I'm sure it's not just those two inside. Those two had very tragic stories compared to others. I also have the future events in my head, so this could be a little contribution to that.

Either way, three more years still have to pass to see this plan of mine become a reality. For now, I'm just a little kid enjoying spending his time with a loving family, studying and training. My thoughts concluded on this matter. I felt the sun's rays shine upon my window. Every so often, I would sleep beside Giliath and Kasia, but I do have my own room now. Except for one thing...

Slowly waking up to start the day, I stretched my body. I felt really freshed. No mental stress or anything. Full of energy to start my Daily Quest. If it just wasn't for one thing that distracted me. I saw a smaller figure appearing beside me once I unfolded the covers. It was a little boy whose hair matched my Mother's, Kasia.

"Rean...", I uttered. Seeing this child before me enjoying a peaceful sleep at my side, I couldn't help but sigh. "I fear the time that will drive a wedge in our family is coming sooner than I want it to be. Knowing what is to come and all...", I uttered. I kept my voice quiet to not wake Rean up.

This child is of course Rean. He'll be turning two later in the year. You'd think he'd still reside in his crib, but Kasia permitted him to sleep beside me. Not every night, but it'd happen sometimes.

The very same Rean Schwarzer we all know and love where he will become his own main character in the coming years. But right now, he's my little bro, and it'll remain that way.

"Brother!", Rean suddenly said, calling out to me. It would seem my actions still caused him to wake up. He clung onto my arm. I shook my head. Reaching my finger outward, I gave Rean's forehead a gentle push backward. Just like how you'd see a certain ninja duo do it whenever the older one wanted to scold his younger sibling. I'm referring to Itachi and Sasuke here.

"How many times do I have to tell you not to wander into my room like this, Rean? No doubt this is Mother's doing...", I replied, sighing while looking at Rean beside me. He was already starting to form his sentences and was already addressing me as his older brother. How cute.
