Since Gaara had a fortuitous encounter in the gelel mine a clone of redhead no brow boy is permanently stationed to take charge of his duties in the village.
In reality, the original has been wondering why the people of the Hidden Sand continues to stay in the middle of the desert despite the huge inconvenience.
Sure they have the advantage in fighting here in the desert because of the terrain but asside from that, there's practically nothing notable about the place.
It has been a year since Gaara became a Genin, his promotion was delayed for some reason that he was never really interested in knowing. This is for sure somewhat related to what happened in canon where he had to join Konoha genin for the chunin exams.
Knowing this he found it more beneficial to do business, explore ruins, study chakra, research things, invent things, learn new skills, and many more. With his enhanced memory and thought process, doing these things showed quick progress.
The thing however that made it all possible is shadow clone jutsu. It was no wonder it became Naruto's signature move. Without it, he would have taken so much longer than he actually did. It was no less than a cheat in this world and even the protagonist of the story is not using it to it's full potential.
His clones ran a tech company called Yggdrassil. He basically stole tech and imroved upon them through reverse engineering. He then mass produced the tech and sold it to those in need.
Yggdrassil can be said to be a fairly young company but the power behind it is not lacking in terms of money. There are always 'filthy' rich people who deserves what was coming for them. Similar to Robin Hood, he stole from evil people. In contrast, he didn't give money to the poor.
He often said something like 'from the sweat of your brow, you will eat your daily bread' or 'give a man a fish, you feed him for a day... Bla bla. Like his clones didn't know that.
The new problem they encountered is that there's a shortage of rich men in the gangs these days. The same went for bandits, thieves and those of similar professions. Most of the time Gaara only stole from them but there are times where he killed people who he thinks deserved it.
Now, Yggdrassil is very popular in the land of wind and in neighboring villages as it introduced advanced technology to small shinobi and civilian villages who does not have access to modern day appliances, kitchen tools, crafting tools, games, and many more.
On the gray area, Yggdrassil is also secretly sold weapons. Not just the old sword, kunai, shuriken kind of weapons. Not even paper bomb type of weapons but also advanced weapons and combat gears. Chakra armor, Chakra Gun, Glider wings, Naval ships, Strengthening Pills, Healing Pills, and many more.
They sold like hotcakes. The basis of small to mid sized conflict between villages slowly came in favor of those who bought more advanced weapons from Yggdrassil. Basically, if you want to lose then don't buy anything and be conquered. Or killed. Maybe both. This is reason enough why most villages would buy everything they can.
What they can buy, to their frustration has a quota or a limitation. If one village can only buy up to twenty chakra armor then there's no way they'd be able to get twenty-one. Same rule applies to all of the strategic weapons/items that can sway the outcome of battle. Except if they bought from another village with advanced tech. Good luck with that.
The trend that no one came to realize just yet is that smaller forces can buy more than bigger forces. This led to a different war that did not require the use of violence lest both village perish in a mutually assured destruction.
Nidivillier another one of Gaara's making is a scientific community that aimed to gather the brightest minds in the Shinobi world 'for the advancement of technology and the betterment of mankind.' Gaara laughed out loud when he spoke that bullcrap of an organizational goal. But having one with good alignment is better than an evil one. On paper.
Gaara only pursued knowledge, strength and happiness. The former two made him happy. The reason why he's doing everything to be wise and strong.
Money? Money can only take you so far and then it's just paper. According to someone, its not even good to use it to wipe up shit. Westerners and their nasty habits. Wiping? Asians like Jinn/Gaara will never feel comfortable even with a tiny bit of it left in there. It just felt wrong.
That leads us to knowledge and strength. The reason why Gaara is fascinated with ruins. Gelel mine and all that, who wouldn't?
Gaara theorized that the ancient civilization before the birth of chakra is similarly spectacular and advanced. For some reason however, these ancient civilizations either disappeared completely or is in the verge of disappearing.
There's no example of the former as no traces are left of them have been found so far. As for the latter, there's Roran, Gelel, Box of Bliss, Yomi and the Demon, and as Gaara suspects to also be in this group is the Uzumaki.
Some of these are just speculations and he could be wrong but the implications if this is proven to be true will have a huge impact in the future path of the Shinobi world. In light of this, Gaara took it to himself and gather like-minded fellows who will help him make things flow faster towards the completion of his goals.
Gaara's clone thought about this as he checked his chakra. Damage and use of jutsu hastens the expenditure of his chakra. He is very close to poofing out of existence. If he was in his lonesome then it wouldn't have been a huge deal, but the situation is special. He is on a mission with his elder brother and sister who are beside him resting and tending to their wounds.
"I will stand as bait and grab their attention, you guys must make it back to Sunagakure no matter what."

"This is not a request Temari, Kankuro you understand that hesitation will get you killed in battle yes? Snap out of it!"
The elder brother and sister who was just to speak was blocked with no way to retort, they are shinobi of the Sand before they are siblings and the mission comes first.
"Don't worry, I don't plan to die here as well. I promise I'll see you back in Suna as soon as I deal with these sword fanatic pests."
Kankuro and Temari thought for a while and nodded before vanishing quickly. They felt terrible leaving their brother and leader but orders are orders despite their reluctance. In addition, they have always believed in Gaara to an unspeakable degree.
Like little boys to Ironman, Batman, Superman, and Spiderman. He is believed to be the hope of Sunagakure. The ultimate weapon and the ultimate shield at the same time. Their presence may be dragging him down so they left with resolution to catch up to him somehow.
The clone sighed seeing them leave like that, Temari and Kankuro stood behind him wearing their now broken chakra armor. The enemies in starwars looking armor surrounded the trio soon enough.
"Finally tired of escaping? Give me the scroll and come with us peacefully if you don't want to die. I don't want to have to resort to violence in this wonderful day."
The siblings ran forward.
"You... What a shame... *Sigh Kill them all."
Gaara's clone grinned widely before the three of them rushed forward and exploded in the middle of the enemy ranks causing the greatest amount of damage possible.
"Fucking shinobi and their tricks! Chase after them!"
The low amount of available chakra of the clone was further divided into three plus the transformation taking some more chakra out of the two. This made it so that the damage incurred by the pursuers are reduced to non lethal burns and physical incapacitation at most.
'This is all I can do right now.'
The clone thought before exploding himself and the two clones he made. This gave his siblings a little bit of leverage but they are not yet guaranteed to be safe.
