"So where's the jar?"
Temari asked seriously as she and her youngest brother walked into Gaara's secret training ground.
"Its in a secure facility where a special method of feeding it is available."
The jar is in fact inside the Gelel mine base right now. While Gaara already had the blueprint for the Ankor Vantian's engine, it will still take monumental amount of efforts and materials before he can replicate it. In addition to that, the temple design is not to his liking. He leaned more on the Helicarrier style when it came to flying fortresses or the Aincrad if he had enough materials. This however will have to remain a dream for now because of the many limitations.
"And where are we going?"
"You ask too much question. Just follow me, will you?"
Temari made some kind of helpless expression with her face and she looked weird as fuck making Gaara laugh loudly.
"Here we are... Tada!"
A cloth covered thing stood in the middle of the room Temari was led to. An overhead light shone directly above it gave one the feeling of someone being interrogated by the police, that kind of vibe.
"Is this some kind of..."
Temari was just about to speak when the lights suddenly turned on."
"SURPRISE!"
As she took a fighting stance while covering her eyes she heard people cheering. Her classmates can be seen smiling as they held some confetti poppers thingy in their hands. They laughed and shouted her name out loud almost bringing her to tears. Almost, because she coughed the tightening lump on her throat and she looked to the ceiling for a period of time while rapidly opening and closing her eyes. Someone is about to cry for sure.
"Ahhh dear sister, did you think we'll ever forget that you are already this old and are still single? The sands of Suna never forget. We, the children of the sand, will always remember. Hehe Don't cry on me now. Blame Gaara its his fault."
Kankuro immediately shifted blame towards the younger brother. A technique overly used by older brothers and sisters out there ever since forever.
"You're one to talk about being single. Perhaps there's another reason why like to wear make-up so much?"
Siblings and their banter, it never ends. The two are at it again. They celebrated Temari's birthday for half a day before her classmates decided to go home as it was getting late. When everyone except the siblings left the venue Gaara took out a box from his inventory seal.
"Here's my gift. I didn't want others to see you having it so you can use it to bully them later."
Temari smiled at the prospect of bullying others and her eyes lit up. She opened the box quickly and inside is the most advanced chakra armor with doctor Octo inspired utility arms and chakra absorption property. Aside from the armor, there are also a pair of daggers in there, a green one and a black one.
"Those weapons are not yet sold in Yggdrasil. I specially purchased it through my connections. The introduction said that they supposedly boost your wind and fire elemental affinity. Do you want to test them out?"
Temari smiled widely in agreement. She quickly changed in one corner before coming back looking badass. The black-red armor tightly hugs the entire body like a second skin. An exoskeleton if you will.
Like a normal chakra armor, it deflects a certain amount of damage and as long as chakra is supplied, the barrier will stay intact except in some rare instances. The difference is that this armor is made with reference to the infinity armor from Takumi and is capable of absorbing chakra.
The helmet on the other hand is equipped with CCTV assisted viewing, radio communicator, and rebreathers that filter poison and increase stealth in water environments. In terms of defense against physical attacks such as taijutsu, kenjutsu, and other bukijutsu the armor can take a pretty heavy beating. Even Tsunade will not be able to easily destroy the material of the armor with one or two hits, the blunt damage from that on the other hand is another thing to consider.
"Oi Gaara, I know its not my birthday yet. But you've got to get me one of those."
"Sure, in fact, here try this on."
A box more than two meters tall appeared before Kankuro. Much to the boy's surprise. The chakra armor that they wore before are already super-duper expensive and this thing Temari is wearing based on looks alone should cost three to five times more in his humble estimation. Who would have thought Gaara would have another one of those things?
"This... Its a prank. Isn't it?"
Kankuro looked skeptical from the happy and excited expression. Expectations hurt people the most after all and they have long since learned to not have that much of a huge expectation towards other people. One's happiness is his sole responsibility. While others could help, it is nothing but supplementary things to the person himself.
"Open it."
Gaara only smiled at Kankuro's visible mood swing. Now the ball is back on his court.
'What is it gonna be?'
"Dang it. Let's go!"
Kankuro opened the box and a huge metallic beast greeted him. It looked like a scorpion but the legs are replaced with weird looking things.
"You should take it for a spin. They call it Scorpion King I or SK I for short."
Gaara opened the cockpit that could only fit one person and gestured for Kankuro to take a seat inside. The armor plates on this thing is the real deal. No wirings and other weak ass components that can be easily exploited. It was specifically designed to take beatings head on while relying on its neo-chakra armor properties, strong natural defense, and auxiliary weapons to fight many enemies at the same time.
Its weakness is its huge chakra requirements to the user and the somewhat lacking mobility.
'Okay. Temari is the flying unit leader and Kankuro is the ground unit leader'.
"You two ready?"
"Wait I don't even know how to operate this thing."
"Don't be a pussy and just wing it. At the end of the day, Its just another puppet. No chakra stealing on this round. Let's do it!"
"FIGHT!"
The two fought for a long time and the underground training area that granny Chiyo assigned to Gaara almost collapsed out of the sheer damage dealt by the siblings who looked like they wanted to seriously kill one another. In the end, Temari won due to Kankuro being unable to move anymore due to chakra exhaustion. He passed out with a huge grin in his face. I mean who wouldn't? Its every man's wet dream to ride one of these babes and a noob like Kankuro didn't know what hit him.
"There are some serious consequences to using these weapons. Now I understand why you would wait until everyone else went home. These things will cause the abrupt rise or the sudden downfall of our village."
Temari is young but she is definitely not a fool and understood the consequences of being the owner of something good. If you can't protect what you own, might as well lose it now before you die without knowing how or why. Villages would tag-team just because of greed or the fear they'd have for those who have potential to rise. Just ask the Uzumaki clan. On Earth... Iraq, Venezuela, and Russia are the proof of a rich man dying for the incapacity to protect his property.
If you don't want others to take what you have, then you will have to deter them from having the slightest idea by having strength.
"These are for emergency use only. I don't want any more of the last incident to ever occur again. Who knows maybe its not just an arm next time. I'm afraid something might happen while I'm too far out to do anything. Use these things well and don't forget to train the Body Activation Jutsu we will need it in the future."
"Where are you off to this time?"
"Who knows, I am the son of the desert. The sand, goes wherever the wind takes it."
Gaara gave a vague answer before he disappeared.
Temari just stared blankly. At the place where he disappeared. Thinking how nice it is to be free to soar freely like the wind. Free from the shackles of responsibility, duty, and similar ideals.
'How envious.'
Temari sighed and closed her eyes.
