BIOGRAPHY
Jason Tate's life split in two the day he met Cole Shaw.
He started as a New York university kid — the kind who lived in libraries and labs, not parties. Where other students crammed for exams, Jason stayed up all night writing code, modelling systems, and pushing hardware to the brink. Professors either found him exhausting or brilliant. Usually both.
In Chapter 05 – New Parameters, Cole's "normal" life at college intersected with Jason's at a crucial moment. Cole clocked Jason's mind immediately: the speed of his reasoning, the way he could move from code to circuitry to pure theory without skipping a beat. Jason, in turn, recognized that Cole wasn't just another sharp student — there was discipline there, something lethal under the surface, wrapped in a calm, polite exterior.
Jason's turning point came in the lab.
Under the guidance of his university professor, Jason worked on a black-level experimental project that should never have existed on a campus: a theoretical device that could weaponize bio-systems at the molecular level. Together, they pushed the design from concept into prototype.
That work — their work — became what the world in shadow circles would later fear as the Rabbit's Foot.
Jason understood the math.He understood the engineering.What he didn't fully grasp at first was how dangerous their creation really was once it left the safety of equations and simulations.
Cole did.

In Chapter 10 – The Worm Ledger, Jason's recruitment solidifies: Cole brings him in alongside Dade Murphy (Zero Cool / Crash Override) and Kate Libby (Acid Burn), forming the brains of the Round Table's cyber-and-science backbone.
Jason is not a hacker in the same way Dade and Kate are. He's something else:
The engineer who understands how reality can be bent with math and hardware.
The scientist who co-created a device on par with the darkest weapons in the Mission: Impossible continuity.
The old friend who knew Cole before "Arthur," before the Round Table, before the world started to tilt.
Cole trusts Jason because:
