Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: I Support You

Sean Grant let out a long sigh, moved closer to Nancy Sutton, and encouragingly patted her shoulder.

"I support you! You have to take back what's rightfully yours."

Nancy Sutton nodded in agreement, the two of them exchanged a glance and smiled at each other.

Mason Sutton's stomach growled loudly, breaking the current atmosphere, and Nancy Sutton looked at him with a bit of helplessness.

Feeling inexplicably amused, she burst out laughing, and Mason Sutton's ears immediately turned red, pouting childishly.

"Mommy, Auntie, I'm hungry."

Sean Grant affectionately patted Mason Sutton's head and turned to the server.

"Has it really been that long, and the dishes aren't ready yet?"

The server, very professional, did not complain but apologized first and then urged the kitchen via intercom.

After a while, the server brought several dishes, looking quite appetizing, and Mason Sutton expertly handled the chopsticks, picking up a piece of braised eggplant.

He held it near his mouth and blew on it lightly a few times until it was comfortably warm, then put it in his mouth, his eyes squinting with satisfaction.

Seeing Mason Sutton so satisfied, Sean Grant was relieved at once; Serenvale was indeed reliable.

Sean Grant was just about to call Nancy Sutton to start eating when he turned his head and was puzzled to find she had disappeared, scratching his head.

Nancy Sutton walked to the restaurant's children's play area and immediately noticed Bianca Sutton among the group of kids.

She hurriedly grabbed a child, her voice gentle.

"Little friend, can you call over the little girl playing with the blocks in the corner for me?"

The child initially wanted to throw a tantrum but forgot about it upon seeing Nancy Sutton's beauty, feeling his mind blank.

How is this auntie so pretty!

Upon hearing Nancy Sutton's request, the child puffed up his little chest as if entrusted with a significant task.

He walked over to Bianca Sutton, gently poked the soft little arm of the girl.

"Hey, your mom's here looking for you."

Bianca Sutton immediately put down the blocks upon hearing the word "mom," her little feet quickly stepping out of the children's area.

She bumped right into Nancy Sutton.

Nancy Sutton quickly moved aside from Bianca Sutton, her eyes betraying a hint of worry, looking around to ensure her precious daughter wasn't hurt.

"Are you okay?"

Bianca Sutton waved her hand, indicating she was fine. Disliking the pale look on Nancy Sutton's face, she lifted her head with an immensely bright smile.

"Mommy, I'm fine! Let's go eat."

Nancy Sutton finally exhaled slowly after hearing Bianca say she was fine, actively taking Bianca's little hand.

Walking back to Sean Grant's table.

When Nancy Sutton returned, she found the dishes on the table were not yet finished, and Sean Grant seemed to have understood her thoughts, explaining.

"I saved some especially for you guys."

Bianca Sutton didn't have time to listen to this, immediately picking up the chopsticks and starting to eat, clearly quite hungry.

Nancy Sutton smiled and lowered her head to eat as well.

...

Sean Grant turned on the car radio, gently pressing the brake with his foot as the light turned red. Nancy Sutton turned her head, aimlessly gazing at the street scene.

Suddenly, Nancy Sutton's pupils contracted, her eyes reflecting a tall figure of a man.

Nancy Sutton quickly reached out, rubbing her eyes several times, and when she looked again, the man had already vanished.

Nancy Sutton pressed her lips together, her expression easing considerably.

Of course, she must have been mistaken; how could Liam Quincy be here?

The leisurely and slow song on the radio made it impossible to resist relaxing tense nerves, Nancy Sutton steadied her heartbeat.

Tilting her head, she closed her eyes, preparing to rest a little.

The day had been utterly fantastical; how unfortunate to encounter Liam Quincy by chance like this.

She absolutely didn't want to get tangled up with that man.

On the other side, Liam Quincy had just crossed a road, arriving at a quaint pastry shop hidden in an alley.

He stepped inside, the bell jingled softly.

A middle-aged woman with gentle features looked up, smiling in surprise upon seeing Liam Quincy.

"Mr. Quincy, here to buy pastries for the old lady again?"

Liam Quincy gave a polite smile and replied.

"Yes, today she particularly wanted jujube cake, so I came to get some."

The woman nodded, promptly picked out a few pieces of jujube cake, four in total, and simply wrapped them in kraft paper, handing them over to Liam Quincy.

Liam Quincy scanned the payment code, settled the bill, thanked her, and immediately left and returned to his car.

Sean Grant patted the sleeping Nancy Sutton beside him and invited her to get out of the car.

"We're here, this is the complex I found for you."

Nancy Sutton was a bit confused, shook her head, and tried to pull herself together, taking a look at the tall building before her.

"Isn't this where you live?"

Sean Grant hadn't expected Nancy Sutton to remember his place, genuinely surprised, he laughed happily.

"I got it through connections, from her, just so we can look out for each other in the future."

Nancy Sutton smiled lightly, silently agreeing with Sean Grant's notion.

After waking the children in the backseat, Nancy Sutton carried the luggage and took the elevator up to the twentieth floor.

"Ding dong" the floor had arrived.

The layout here was one unit per floor, with no neighbors, providing an excellent sense of privacy, which was perfect for Nancy Sutton as she had no interest in making friends with neighbors.

She opened the door, revealing the interior already decorated in a warm Japanese style, looking very comfortable overall.

Bianca Sutton poked her small head out from behind, her mouth agape slightly.

"Wow! I love it here!"

Bianca Sutton walked straight into her children's room, completely forgetting about the people behind her, Mason Sutton pursed his lips in mild disbelief.

He turned, looked at Nancy Sutton obediently, and said.

"Mommy, I want to rest a bit, can I go to my room?"

Nancy Sutton nodded, watching the child's back, her lips curled up gently in contentment.

Suddenly, a thought flashed through her mind, and she turned to Sean Grant.

"Can you lend me the car for a bit?"

Sean Grant was slightly taken aback, nodded instinctively, but then asked back, apparently realizing something.

"Is your international driver's license valid here?"

Nancy Sutton had indeed forgotten about this matter, standing there dazed for a few seconds, while Sean Grant had already figured out a solution for her.

"I'll find a driver tonight to take you to those two scumbags' wedding tomorrow."

Nancy Sutton relaxed at that, and Sean Grant seemed hesitant to speak.

"Do you want me to come along?"

Nancy Sutton waved her hand, declining Sean Grant's offer.

"No need, I can handle them by myself, besides, you have work tomorrow."
