It was with tempered expectations that Giselle arrived back at the Midnight Inn. She had been gone for a long time - far longer than she had expected or anticipated. It wasn't that she had sought to return to the Inn, but that circumstances had spun out of control.
Even her own plans had to be discarded in the face of reality, not that her experiences since then had been a waste. She had grown tremendously during her journey, and had expanded her horizons by a great deal. She'd also established deep ties with the up and coming Paladins.
Given that her ultimate goal was to destroy the Defilers, and the so-called Defilers Club which protected them, she could even be said to have made great progress towards that goal. Or, well, some progress.
She knew that this was not something that could be achieved so quickly, which is why she wasn't too disappointed to have her plans spoiled. This was an endeavor that could only be progressed upon step by step.
