Ezra
The silence in the kitchen was deafening as she stared at me. There was not an emotion on her face but I could hear the gears working overtime in her head as she blinked. The frown on her face seemed to get deeper with each passing second and it seemed to hit her all at once.
The vibrancy in her eyes seemed to fade as she looked at me as if I was a stranger.
"Who is it?"
"Mama-"
"Who is it Ezra!"
I gulped and felt faint. My hand held onto the wall in an attempt to steady myself. "You wouldn't understand. You wouldn't approve."
She fell back into her chair with a cry as she shook her head, "it can't be Ezra. Don't tell me it's him."
I choked back a sob as I looked at her. "I love him mama. I know he's older and the divorce but mama he's caring. He loves me."
