Suddenly, a massive centipede burst from the ground while letting out a loud screech that shook the ground. The monstrous insect charged toward Rou, who was unable to move. Right before it could get him in its jaws, I turned into a bolt of lightning. A loud explosion rang out as Aurtirumu was sent flying through a group of trees. I landed next to Rou with lightning dancing around me, a smile on my face.
OgaHou: Hey, it looked like you were in trouble, so I decided to step in. Besides, no one else wants to fight me right now.
OgaRou: Fine, I will leave it to you, so don't say I never give you any lovely presents.
Laughing, I looked in the direction I had just sent Aurtirumu flying, waiting for it to make its next move. My wait did not last long because within a few seconds, it got up and launched itself straight at me. Fearlessly, I sent a punch to its head. Again, another explosion spread out with a shockwave following close after. The shockwave knocked over all the trees in the immediate area, uprooting them. Aurtirumu then reared its head back again to unleash another screech, hopping to paralyze me. The thought that this damn bug thinks it can intimidate me severed to royally piss me off. Taking a deep breath to fill my lungs, I let out a mighty roar at the same time it screeched.
After our little shouting contest, the bug and I returned to trying to kill each other. Meanwhile, my soul power stirred frantically in my body, giving me more strength. When it used acid to melt me, the lightning around my body protected me. I then grabbed one of its legs and ripped it off. Afterwards, I proceeded to stab the bug in its back, causing it to let out a pained scream. Seeing it was pinned to the ground, I went to finish it, but was interrupted by an attack to my back. That brief moment I took to look back was enough Aurtirumu to flee into the ground. When I saw that, I let out a fierce roar that filled the forest with my rage.
OgaRou: Calm down, little brother. My prey also got away, but don't worry, someday we will them to finish what we started.
Rou's words did the trick at calming me down. I quickly looked around the battlefield to see almost everything was over. Moments later, the enemy received the order to retreat, meaning Rou's side mission was a success. Now that the war was over, we returned home. Sadly, no one was in the mood to celebrate because they were grieving the fallen. I looked them over and swore to become so intense that our clan would never lose anyone to war again. The next day, a number of hobgoblins evolved. Most of them became ogres, while three evolved into something else. HobgoblinJi, who is now Seiji, evolved into a half Saint lord. His race is not very good at fighting, but with their healing and barrier skills, they are indispensable. As for the other two, one became a ghoul while the other a Dodmaki. There were also some more Kolbolds that evolved with their leader reaching the level of Kolbold samurai. After that, Rou and I talked about what to do with our prisoners of war. Later on, we told them that they could either stay or leave but would have to work for us for a few days. Interestingly, half of them chose to stay, but of course, this came with its problems.
Flame lord: This makes no sense that even though we are stronger than you we have to be temporary troops.
All of the other goblins got angry while I started to laugh my ass off at the idiot. That caused the flame to get angry instead.
Flame lord: The hell are you laughing at Ogre? The weaklings include your race as well.
OgaHou: First, the name is Ogahou. I take pride in it, so you best call me that. Second, I am laughing at how stupid and worthless you are. I mean, think about it: the only claim to strength you have is your race. As far as I am concerned, the only thing that matters is who has the hardest fist. Everything thing else is what those who are weak rely on to make themselves seem important.
As I spoke, each syllable was emphasized to make sure my point got across to everyone. When I finished talking, Flame lord's face had turned a bright red.
Flame lord: Fine, then how about I prove that I am superior to you in every way.
I cracked a smile at him because I found him quite likable. Of course, I mean as a friend or subordinate.
OgaHou: Alright, count me in, but first, how about a little wager? If you win, then from now on, you are the leader, no questions asked, but if I beat, you and your buddies will work for me.
Not even waiting for me to say what the challenge will be, he agreed to my terms without hesitation. I simply nodded, then waved my hand, and a nearby tree froze into a block of solid ice.
OgaHou: What you have to do is simply to make this frozen tree melt, if even a little.
A wide, confident smile was plastered on Flame lord's face as he walked toward the tree, cracking his knuckles. Once he was in front of he summoned a small Flame on his pointer finger and lightly touched the tree. His smile soon vanished because his entrie arm flames and all were frozen solid. He summoned even stronger flames, and yet still, his hand was frozen. It was here he started to panic. Even with the other lord help him they couldn't brake the ice.
FL: What the hell did you do to me this is not something an Ogre should be able to do?
OgaHou: What do you mean this is my own natural ability? To be honest in this band of ours it is not uncommon to see a thing or two that would normally be impossible.
After trying for a while to brake it in the normal way the lords used their demon spheres. Demon spheres are gem like objects that can transform into a weapon that enhances their abilities.
Still even with the assistance of their demon spheres they could not put a scratch on the ice. I wasn't too surprised since I knew that my Ice is approaching absolute zero. With it being that cold it's hardness also reached a high level. Recently I also noticed that with practice I can lower the temperature even further. After the lords broke their spheres on the ice they were done so we moved on to the others. It went pretty much the same except for a troll that tried to ambush me. Unfortunately for him there is no way to catch me off guard unless it is when ignore you completely. Done with that little demonstration we had them do the training that all beginners do.
