The sun was high above the sky. It was already noon. Ye Shenyin's calm gaze landed on the tall and sturdy-looking boy who was around fourteen. He wore an exquisite gray robe with strange patterns.
Compared to him, he was only a few inches shorter than the guy before him and his appearance resembled a somewhat thin and fragile puppy who was staring calmly at a wolf.
"It's Li Mu!" someone from the crowd exclaimed
"How unfortunate. He really picked Li Mu out of all participants"
" I heard that Li Mu had practiced martial arts before"
The guy named Li Mu, was undoubtedly a Young Master from another clan. Standing proudly with hidden arrogance, Li Mu's eyes penetrated Ye Shenyin's gaze ,his dark eyes staring deeply at him almost as if he could see right through Ye Shenyin's soul.
However, Ye Shenyin remained calm until the duel officially started.
The goal of the duel was to either push the opponent out of the stage platform or beat them until they surrendered. Judging from Li Mu's stance, it seemed that he preferred violence.
Suddenly, Li Mu dashed forward and landed a heavy and strong punch at Ye Shenyin's abdomen.
Ye Shenyin , who was caught off guard, was sent flying almost immediately.
At the same time, everyone let out a low surprised gasp.
"Shenyin!" Ming Yi shouted worriedly but was stopped by someone.
Lu Qingxian, Qin Shangyu and Xiao Ying , who were upstairs clearly saw Ye Shenyin do nothing thus, they wore different expressions of confusion.
Just as everyone thought that the winner has been decided, Ye Shenyin's rolling body which was about to leave the perimeter, abruptly stopped. The thin body of Ye Shenyin then stood up as if he wasn't even punched heavily and rolled like a dead man just now. He wiped off the blood at the corner of his mouth and continued to sieze his opponent using his calm gaze.
Upon seeing this. Li Mu felt irritated and dashed towards him yet again.
"It's over!" Qin Shangyu worriedly exclaimed as she subconsciously moved closer to Lu Qingxian yet who knew the moment her words fell, Ye Shenyin also looked up to their direction.
Just as Li Mu was about to land another bone-shattering punch , Ye Shenyin abruptly rolled to the ground to appear behind him and then with full force, kicked Li Mu's back.
Li Mu's face was extremely ugly. The kick didn't necessarily hurt him but the strength however, adding to his momentum, was enough to make him forcefully step out of the stage! The crowd all went silent for a moment before loudly clapping . They had never Expected for this thin man to actually win and at such a decisive way too.
"Fourty-seventh duel match. Participant : Card number eighty six, Ye Shenyin versus card number eighty eight , Li Mu: Ye Shenyin won this match. Please proceed!" the announcer loudly announced.
"Woah that Ye Shenyin is something!" Qin Shangyu commented
" Mn. I think he has the talent" Lu Qingxian also thought the same. Compared to the other participants who struggled to win, Ye Shenyin and Li Mu's duel was executed in an extremely short and clean manner "it broke even last year's duel match record!
Lu Qingxian watched as Ye Shenyin walked to the group of passers.
These people whose faces were that of apologetic and victorious,now stood proudly at the center of the platform as they proudly boasted about how they won their victory. As for those who failed to pass the second examination were naturally sent out.
Now, out of the ninety four remaining candidates, only fourty seven passed.
"Congratulations to those who passed the second examination. Now, as you might have guessed, each Great Peak Masters of each great Peaks of Rising Mountain Sect will choose who will be their inner disciples" Xiao Ying cheerfully announced which made the crowd excited. Some can't even contain their excitement as they exclaimed happily.
However, just as everyone was at their happiest moment, Xiao Ying added yet again. "However, not everyone will be chosen hehe. Since we only accept those who are talented, naturally those who are not won't be chosen. Worry not, those who are unfortunate will still remain in the Sect as an outer disciple" when he said this, some were cheerful again while others looked downcast still.

Who wants to be one?
Those who are not talented would have to polish their talents and show their potential in order to get the attention of one of the Peak Masters and be accepted as an inner disciple. It may sound easy but the actual process was not that favorable.
In order to be able to join the examination alone, the exam takers should be at the very least, twelve to fifteen years old. Those who are lucky enough to be chosen as the inner disciple , will learn different arts with the guidance of the Peak Masters they are under. In a span of time, while they are learning , they are also given a chance to participate in battles and cultivate their combat experience. These are things that the outer sect disciples can't obtain.
While the inner sect disciples can obtain real advancements, Outer Sect disciples were only considered a disciple with no advancements. In other words, they only exist as disciple that had to endure labors and bitterly fight to show their potentials. With the current number of outer sect disciples Rising Mountain Sect has, it would be impossible to get the attention of the Peak Masters for twenty or so years.
Which means that when that times comes, their ages would no longer be qualified to be an inner sect disciple.
