My head was pounding. Slowly, I managed to peel my eyes open. That sure was an unsuccessful power nap. Wait, why am I not in my bed? It all came back to me in a flash, I had been walking back to my dorm room, when some strange guy had come out of nowhere. I remember running back to my dorm room to get back and then my vision going dark. But what had happened next? I looked around, trying to piece together where I was. There were the dark shapes of furniture, I must be in one of the common rooms, scattered around campus. I was sprawled out on a comfy armchair, but I couldn't feel any bindings on my hands or ankles, so that was always a good sign. I could feel the presence of someone else in the room, their eyes were boring into my prone form. Because of the dim lighting they hadn't seen me open my eyes. I was silently grateful that it was nighttime. Wait, nighttime? Why was it completely dark outside? I must have been unconscious for longer than a few minutes. Maybe that was why my head was killing me, I must have hit it and gotten a concussion.
I shifted slightly and the the silhouette of a man, who instantly jumped to his feet the moment he saw me move.
"Are you finally awake!?" He asked, his voice a mixture of relief and panic. "Are you hurt anywhere?" Then he mumbled "I forgot how delicate humans can be".
I inched backwards in my chair. "Stay away from me, I'm warning you. I'll scream if you try anything. Who are you, and what do you want with me?" My words came out in a rush, questions and threats spilling together.
"Oh, shit, I guess I should have started with an introduction. My name is Donovan De Galleus. I mean you no harm and have come with a message for you. I am what you would call an intergalactic salesman, so to speak."
