"Alice..." He held her close, his body leaning against the headboard, "Do you still think I'm upset with you for blaming Becca?"
Alice slowly lifted her head, meeting his earnest eyes, "Chester, you know? I've never been able to comprehend your heart."
"Why do you feel that way, I..."
Alice interrupted Chester, "But tonight, you finally didn't disappoint me; you let me guess your heart right for once."
"Hmm?"
She smiled and said, "Earlier at the banquet, I ran into Claud..."
Chester squinted his eyes.
"Claud brought his niece to the banquet, the way he dotes on her reminds me of how you used to treat me... I miss the past so much, carefree, chasing after you, dreaming of growing up quickly, getting married to you... Now, I'm finally about to fulfill my wish, soon to be your wife, yet here I am overthinking things."
He lifted her face, "I told you, as long as my heart never lies, one day you'll know I only love you."
