Victor Morgan had long since mentally prepared for anything. He had even conducted a full accounting of his company without Vera's knowledge, all to have leverage for negotiating with Ron.
As long as he could cure Vera's poison and get Chloe back, these worldly possessions were things he could truly cast aside.
But Ron laughed. "What if I can only give you the antidote, but Chloe has to stay here? Would you still make the trade?"
Ron knew very well that only by keeping Chloe close could they better control Vera. If he let Chloe go, Vera would be difficult to manage.
But Victor Morgan refused to give in. "I don't just want the antidote. My demand is clear: I also want my daughter back with me."
Ron gritted his teeth, furious. "Vera's condition is already critical! You should be taking the antidote and rushing back right now. How can you be negotiating with me?"
