Victor received no response. He'd noticed the look in Vera's eyes earlier—she'd looked at him as if he were a complete stranger. It made his blood boil.
Victor saw the two of them still laughing. 'What could she possibly find so amusing about a conversation with a man like that?'
Since Vera and Jordan Walker had arrived first, they were already getting up to leave just as the dishes started arriving at Victor's table.
To make matters worse, Victor even saw Jordan Walker's hand resting on Vera's waist. 'If they'd only just met, there's no way he would make such an intimate gesture.'
'In other words, they must have known each other for a long time. Could he be the one who helped Vera get all that funding?'
