Victor had been about to prove that the incident with Zola was just a misunderstanding. But now, by proactively lashing out and hurting people, Zola had made it impossible for Victor to defend him.
And this time, several people had been injured. There was no way to explain this away.
Zola was still crying hysterically, his emotions unstable, leading everyone present to believe that he really was the one who had pushed Luna Warner.
Victor, no longer caring what became of the scene, simply scooped up his emotionally wounded son and left.
"Zola, we're going home now. Mom is waiting for you. Don't be afraid. Everything is fine, you're okay!"
Victor comforted him the whole time, terrified the incident would have a lasting negative impact on his son. He didn't care if Zola had actually hurt someone; his priority was ensuring his son wasn't left with any psychological scars.
Thank goodness Victor had rushed over. If he hadn't come tonight, who knew what might have happened.
