Vera Warner couldn't take it anymore. She had no idea which of this man's words were true and which were lies.
Victor Morgan felt wronged, too, his heart filled with resentment. "You know it gets chilly at night. Are you really going to make me freeze on the sofa all night?"
Vera Warner shot to her feet, her voice fierce. "Forget one night on the sofa. Even if you were soaking in ice water all night, you are not allowed to come into my room."
With that, Vera Warner lunged at him. If she didn't beat him to the ground today, she was going to teach him a lesson he'd never forget!
