Chapter 561 - Fresh Start

They gathered all other races, protecting and forming a kingdom together, but the humans and perhaps a few others would be excluded and would be unable to be accepted into their kingdom.

The demon king who had such forces and power at their disposal could perhaps seize the whole world if they wanted to, which was one of the reasons why the excluded races feared them so much.

The demon races under the demon king were seen as evil or dangerous, which would only result in them becoming a target for the humans and other excluded races who would unite together to vanquish the great evil threat.

She was a human in her previous life, so it was not like she had any of the same views that her current race was superior in any way.

Another wanted to make humans slaves, while others just wanted to seize land that was habitable for their people.

Despite those things, the thing in common that always stood out was that they were the enemy of the rest of the world, and it was very difficult for the heroes to find a solution other than killing the demon king.

Sometimes in some stories Alyssia told, the demon king was a being who wanted peace, while others wanted to bring about war and destruction.

Although everyone did not know where those stories had come from, Alyssia was able to get her point across quite well.

Excluding others and not letting them have a chance to join in only showed that she viewed humans as lesser beings or that she held some sort of dislike toward them while gathering those with similar views.

Doing so would only raise the suspicions of the many humans in the world, and as the power of the White Storm grew, so would the fears of the many humans who had such doubts.

Those fears and doubts could only grow further if nothing could be done, and then it could only end badly from there if things ended up going down toward the worst possible outcome.

A war with allied human forces was not exactly something that she wanted to happen, so she had no other choice but to approach things that way, although there was a slight motivation from her previous life, which had been a part of it.

Upon listening to the words of Aizah, Marceline spoke in an uncertain tone of voice. "I will do it. I have nothing left here anyway. There is one thing, though..."

Aizah narrowed her eyes, studying Marceline. "Speak."

Marceline hesitated before speaking. "I have a maid who was educated alongside me and assisted me in many things. Could she have a job too?"

Aizah nodded in response before calmly stating. "Of course. She can take the role of your assistant or receptionist. Whatever would suit her best. Now... shall we get out of here?"

As the small group started to leave the Blanc Archipelago and headed back toward the ship that was waiting for them to depart, several others were left confused about how Marceline had simply vanished and could no longer be found.

Not only that, but the events surrounding what took place on the Blanc Archipelago would soon spiral out of control.

The loss of Marceline would affect them greatly, but it would soon become something that would end up benefiting the White Storm greatly.

Marceline watched the homeland she once was supposed to rule over alongside Prince Francis as it got further in the distance. 'Hah... although this is not what I had ever thought about, I guess this could end up being for the best.

If I stayed there, then I would have been chased down further until I was killed. Although I cannot shake off the suspicion that something else is happening that I do not know about. Although that is none of my business now. Maybe this can be a fresh start for me.'

She was someone who accepted the reality that was in front of her.

The current situation had helped to open her eyes to many things.

After losing the position she was trained to take, there were several mixed feelings within her.

A part of her was feeling disappointment toward herself, her family and everyone else involved.

A part of her thought that if she tried harder to correct her faults, then perhaps things might not have ended that way.

She thought that way for a moment, but then she remembered that perhaps Prince Francis would only be happy with her if she were just a quiet companion who remained by his side, never standing out and outshining him.

If she became such a person, then all that she had been raised for and all that she had to endure would have been put to waste.

Another part of her felt quite good about the situation as if all the burdens and responsibilities she had resting on her shoulders had been removed.

Everything in her life had always been laid out before her with no option to take the slightest detour.

After having everything taken away, there was no longer that heavy weight to hold her down, and there was a strangely liberating feeling boiling within her.

Marceline was feeling free the the very first time, and she was able to make decisions for herself alone. 'Joining the White Storm might not be so bad. As far as I am aware, they are under the influence of a Warlord and that Warlord, unlike others, does not have a bounty.'

If it were a group run by someone with a bounty and a terrible reputation, then perhaps she might not have considered it since she would likely be getting involved with a troublesome group, which would probably wish to use her for some purpose.

Although she was quite optimistic about her future, it was still uncertain if her decision was the correct one.

Just like how rumours had spread about her, which were false or highly exaggerated, it could have been the same for the good reputation of the White Storm.

Knowing how dangerous rumours and such information could be to cover up the truth, Marceline wanted to see with her own eyes what type of place the White Storm was.
