Chapter 560 - Rumours

Aizah put on a reassuring appearance while explaining. "The White Storm is not such a place that would turn away talents. We are certainly not a place that is unable to see the potential each person has.

Even if rumours surround a person and they could potentially cause losses to the White Storm, we prefer to check things out first rather than believe in such things right away, so you do not need to worry."

What Aizah did not say was that she had already looked into Marceline quite deeply.

Marceline's name was on many things that happened in the Blanc Archipelago when it came to managing the internal affairs, to anything related to the exchanges with the surrounding islands.

She had played a huge role in handling various discussions with the nobles to go over the latest agenda while approving, declining or amending the various plans.

She oversaw the taxes and treasure expenses along with other matters related to how the Archipelago was being maintained, events being planned and other land and agriculture developments.

Not only that, but she took part in maintaining and negotiating trade and relations with the nearby islands.

Aizah had looked up everything that she could, but she found something was quite strange about the situation in some ways.

Even if the prince was an idiot and had an inferiority complex when it came to Marceline, who had already accomplished so much, it was not enough to make her lose her position.

Aizah had been secretly hoping for such a scenario to happen, but she was uncertain if things would turn out that way.

Either way, she would have probably found a way to try and approach Marceline since her situation would still worsen over time.

The rumours were growing worse, and so was the treatment that she received, so it would be difficult to find a place for her when everything started reaching breaking point.

Perhaps Marceline really was a villainess like the rumours had stated, or she may have had a prickly personality, but her accomplishments and work ethic were already very high.

The White Storm was not the kind of place where such things mattered, so Aizah went on to explain. "The White Storm is a place that embraces talent and those who are different. We are against the idea of letting prejudices and rumours get in the way of something great."

Marceline was quite moved by the speech, so she began to ask. "Are you sure? What do you need from me exactly? Why would you want me?"

Aizah straightened her posture before answering in a calm tone. "I value your dedication and talents above all. I think your experience will prove to be very useful, and it should not be limited to such a small stage and left unappreciated.

As for the role I would like you to perform. How about you take on the role as my assistant in training for now? If you prove to be suitable, then perhaps a position of Chief Operating Officer or Chief Marketing Officer might be suitable for you. I have high hopes for you."

Seeing that there was still some hesitation shown by Marceline, Aizah decided another approach was needed. "I myself had suffered from my own struggles caused by rumours and prejudice.

My brother and I were born to a mix of two tribes that had a long-standing hatred between them, which resulted in us having to survive after the loss of our parents. We struggled to survive until the White Storm took us in. If not for their chance, then perhaps...

Anyway... status, rumours, bloodline, race, birthplace... these things have little meaning in the White Storm. You will soon come to learn that through experience, if you do decide to join."

Aizah could not forget how hard she and Ashwin struggled to survive in that trash heap.

Life was so difficult back then, and yet the present here was so very different.

She had become the head of the New World branch and had become a decent idol too, which were things she had never thought possible previously.

The same had happened with many others.

It was not about such trivial details that they were treated any better or worse; each of them had brought something to the White Storm.

Even when Alyssia was promoting things like equality and unity between the races, she did not forget to include the humans, too.

Although Alyssia was from the Mink Tribe, she went on to open the White Storm to anyone from any race or background, not excluding anyone.

Although she was part of a race that had isolated itself and was among those who were often treated poorly by humans, Alyssia did not choose to create an organization solely made up of those who were excluded from humans and faced all kinds of discrimination.

The White Storm had become a place for all of the races to gather, exchange and compete among themselves for the sake of a better life.

If she chose to exclude humans, then it would have been seen as an anti-human group which was fostering power using the many races who had something against the humans.

There was one time when some close to Alyssia asked why she had chosen to do such a thing, and her answer was actually quite simple yet confusing for many of them.

Alyssia mentioned that she did not wish to become a demon king or something like that.

Everyone was confused until she began to explain that a demon king was someone who ruled over a nation of monsters, hybrids and other races.

They were either very evil or rational, but in most cases, they were very powerful.
