The Doorbell

Jack was still kissing Pepper when the doorbell rang.

The sharp ding-dong echoed through the luxurious suite, its chime crisp and insistent against the heavy silence of the room.

But Jack didn't stop.

In fact, he acted as if he hadn't heard it at all.

Pepper was pinned beneath him on the wide hotel bed, the white sheets twisted beneath their struggling bodies. The faint scent of expensive perfume lingered in the room, mixed with the sterile smell of hotel linens and the distant salt carried in from the Monaco coastline.

Jack's lips pressed against hers with stubborn persistence.

Pepper tried to turn her head away, but his grip held firm.

The doorbell rang again.

Ding-dong. Ding-dong.

Still, Jack ignored it.

He seemed determined to savor the moment as long as possible.

His hands moved without restraint, roaming across her body while she struggled beneath him.

Minutes passed.

Ten full minutes.

Only then did Jack finally pull away.

He drew a slow breath, as if savoring the air itself. His eyes carried a heavy, dangerous heat—desire barely restrained.

If the moment continued any longer, it would likely spiral into something far darker.

Pepper lay on the bed beneath him, her breathing uneven.

Her expression was complicated.

Confusion mixed with anger.

Humiliation mixed with rage.

Inside her heart burned a single violent thought—she wanted to kill Jack.

Yet the reality was unbearable.

Her body had responded to his touch.

The realization filled her with deep shame.

Jack watched her expression carefully.

A wicked smile slowly crept across his face.

"Feel relieved?" he said lightly. "I told you I wouldn't force you."

His voice carried mocking amusement.

"You should believe in my moral standards."

Pepper glared at him with pure hatred.

"You're scum."

---

The Visitor

The doorbell continued ringing.

Ding-dong. Ding-dong.

Jack finally stood up from the bed.

He straightened his clothes calmly and walked toward the door as if nothing unusual had happened.

The door opened.

Justin Hammer burst inside the moment it did.

"Mr. Wu!" he blurted out nervously. "You're going to kill me with anxiety!"

He hurried in and immediately closed the door behind him, glancing around the hallway before locking it.

Justin looked pale and frantic.

"You have no idea how serious the situation is right now!" he continued, nearly shouting.

Jack leaned casually against the wall.

"What's wrong?" he asked indifferently.

Justin stared at him in disbelief.

"What's wrong?" he repeated. "Do you know how many people are searching for you right now?"

He began counting on his fingers.

"The police… the army… tanks… fighter jets… even the navy!"

Justin's voice trembled.

"People hunting you are about to flood this entire country!"

He pointed urgently toward the door.

"You need to come with me immediately. My private plane is ready—but if we delay any longer, we won't have enough time to leave!"

Jack shrugged casually.

"I thought it was something serious."

His voice was calm.

"This small matter?"

Justin stared at him as if he were insane.

"Small matter?" Justin nearly cried. "I took pity on you and personally arranged people to search nearby areas for safety. If they find you here—"

He swallowed hard.

"I'm finished."

Jack smiled faintly.

"And what does that have to do with me?"

Justin froze.

For a moment, he looked utterly defeated.

"If I'm finished," he said weakly, "who will continue serving you?"

He forced out a desperate smile.

"You won't find another lackey like me."

His pride had long since vanished.

---

Pepper's Outburst

Pepper, still tied to the bed, watched the entire scene.

Disgust filled her eyes.

"You're pathetic," she said coldly.

Justin turned sharply toward her.

Pepper continued, her voice dripping with contempt.

"I always thought you were disgusting before. Now you're even worse."

She laughed bitterly.

"You're kneeling in front of humanity's public enemy. I'm embarrassed for you."

Her gaze burned with scorn.

"Just wait. The whole world will curse you."

Justin's face turned pale blue with anger.

"You— you—!"

Pepper cut him off sharply.

"What? I'm wrong?"

She leaned forward slightly.

"You'll see. Trash like you won't end well."

Her voice sharpened.

"You and your Hammer Industries will destroy yourselves."

Justin clenched his fists.

His face twisted with fury.

"Shut up!" he shouted. "Look at your own situation!"

He pointed at her angrily.

"You're a prisoner!"

Justin sneered.

"And Stark Industries is finished anyway!"

His grin widened maliciously.

"Do you know what happened to your company's stock?"

"It crashed."

Pepper shook her head stubbornly.

"Stark Industries will never fall."

Justin snorted.

"Stop dreaming."

---

Departure

Jack sighed softly.

"Enough arguing."

He walked back to the bed.

Before Pepper could react, he quickly sealed her mouth again with tape.

"Mmm—!"

She glared at him furiously.

Jack lifted her effortlessly onto his shoulder.

"Time to go," he said casually.

He glanced toward Justin.

"Let's head home."

---

Escape

A private jet soon cut through the sky above Monaco.

The aircraft climbed rapidly into the blue, leaving the glittering coastline far below.

On the ground, however—

Someone was watching.

Standing near the racetrack ruins, a beautiful woman raised a pair of binoculars.

Her red hair shimmered beneath the sunlight.

Natasha Romanoff.

Tony Stark's assistant.

Through the lenses, she tracked the departing aircraft as it climbed into the distance.

Her expression was calm.

"Hammer Industries…" she murmured quietly.

Her eyes narrowed slightly.

"That's worth investigating."

But Natasha Romanoff was not merely an assistant.

She was also Black Widow.

A S.H.I.E.L.D. agent.

Under S.H.I.E.L.D.'s arrangement, she had been placed beside Tony Stark with two clear objectives.

First—

To track Jack's movements.

Now that Jack had begun targeting Tony directly, Stark had become the most likely point of contact.

Second—

To observe Tony himself.

S.H.I.E.L.D. wanted to evaluate whether Tony Stark was suitable to join a larger initiative.

The Avengers.

Natasha lowered the binoculars slowly.

Her expression thoughtful.

Inside the Plane

Inside the private jet, Justin Hammer finally relaxed.

He leaned back into his seat with a long sigh.

"That was close," he muttered.

"If they had searched a little harder, we would've been caught."

He wiped sweat from his forehead.

"Good thing I have money."

Jack lounged comfortably nearby, one leg crossed over the other.

"You did well," he said casually.

"My lackey."

Justin instantly smiled.

"It's my duty," he said quickly.

Pepper sat across from them.

Her eyes burned with contempt.

"Hammer," she said coldly, "you're not even worthy of being called a man."

Justin frowned.

Jack chuckled.

"Pepper," he said calmly, "don't blame him too much."

He shrugged lightly.

"Under the threat of death, most people become obedient dogs."

His tone was almost philosophical.

"It's human nature."

Pepper looked directly at Jack.

"You think everyone is like that?"

Her voice was steady.

"I will never submit."

Jack smiled slowly.

"You will."

His eyes glimmered with dark promise.

"You're stubborn now… but I have plenty of ways to change that."

Justin looked curiously at Pepper.

"Mr. Wu," he said hesitantly, "I really don't understand why you kidnapped this woman."

He scratched his head.

"She's like a tigress."

Justin waved his hand.

"If you want women, I can find you a dozen beauties."

Pepper's eyes flared.

"You're the tigress! Your whole family are tigresses!"

Justin rolled his eyes.

Jack shook his head.

"Beauty is something you must pursue personally."

His voice carried quiet disdain.

"The women you find for me would be no different from inflatable dolls."

Justin immediately nodded.

"Yes, yes. Very wise."

Hammer Industries

Later that evening—

Inside the towering headquarters of Hammer Industries.

The top floor attic served as Justin Hammer's personal residence.

Now, however—

It belonged to Jack.

Inside the room, several women sat watching television.

The screen displayed replay footage of the Monaco Grand Prix chaos.

Alice leaned forward slightly.

"Jack should be returning soon," she said quietly.

Ada smirked beside her.

"You missed him?"

Alice glanced sideways.

"You did."

Her voice was calm.

Then she added softly:

"Feelings are complicated."

She sighed faintly.

"I never imagined I'd end up staying with him."

White Queen stood nearby, smiling faintly.

"Human emotions are fascinating," she said.

"No matter how much someone hates another person…"

Her eyes glowed faintly as streams of data flickered across them.

"Sometimes that hatred transforms into love."

Alice nodded slowly.

"At first I hated Jack."

Her voice softened.

"But somehow…"

"That hatred changed."

White Queen suddenly looked toward the door.

A series of calculations flashed through her eyes.

"The man who turned your hatred into something else…"

Her lips curved.

"…has returned."

The door opened.

Jack stepped inside.

Pepper was still slung over his shoulder.
