In the wee hours, Bao Jingyan finally returned.
He didn't see Su Ruanruan and so came looking for her in the cabin.
As the door swung open, he saw Su Ruanruan standing before a huge easel, painting.
She was wearing a long, azure dress.
Her black hair was braided up.
Her slender figure was almost like that of her youthful days.
Bao Jingyan was moved and walked over to embrace her from behind, asking gently, "Van Gogh's starry night?"
Su Ruanruan softened involuntarily as he held her.
She pretended to be composed.
She retorted, "You know that too?"
Bao Jingyan nibbled on her white and tender neck, his voice hoarse and unrecognizable, "So in your eyes, am I just a merchant reeking of money, with no appreciation for art at all?"
Su Ruanruan knew him best.
She turned her head slightly and said softly, "You don't need to study these for me."
Bao Jingyan smiled with a trace of mischief.
He teased her as he held her, "My Ruanruan is a work of art."
