Chapter 13 - Vengeful ghost

In the morning, Denok had just finished tidying up the kitchen. After that, she went to the security post to bring snacks to Limbur. Suddenly, she saw that the door to Tama's room was broken. Denok was surprised and spilled the snacks she brought, then she turned to see what had happened there. It turned out that Kirana was standing in front of Tama's door, which had been damaged from being broken.

"Well, Denok can't disturb Tama, and now the princess is angry again? What happened this time?" she muttered.

Limbur came to see Denok and asked for his snacks, which she was supposed to deliver. Unfortunately, the snacks had already been spilled.

Tama had just woken up at that time and faintly saw the face of a woman with long hair.

"Nadia?" he asked groggily.

"Hey! Open your eyes properly! I'm not your lovely girlfriend! Wake up! Hurry!" Kirana shouted.

"Oh, Princess. I'm sorry," Tama said, quickly coming to his senses.

Kirana immediately showed her laptop screen and asked Tama to explain the results of his financial analysis. Tama yawned because he was still sleepy, but Kirana reflexively slapped Tama, instantly waking him up.

"Eh, sorry. I didn't mean to," she said.

"No problem, Princess. It helped me open my eyes. I'm not sleepy anymore," he said with a sheepish grin.

Tama explained that Kirana's financial condition was messed up. Kirana needed to earn more money to afford basic necessities. Tama suggested that Kirana consider changing the location where she worked as a fortune teller.

"Oh, I see. Then where should I move?"

"Princess needs to hold a big art show to earn more income," Tama proposed.

"But the capital is huge. I don't know if I can pull that off."

"You have plenty of assets, Princess. Your jewelry can be turned into money," Tama said, pointing at Kirana's accessories.

Kirana looked down at the jewelry she was wearing and suddenly began to cry.

"Huaaaa hiks hiks... I love this diamond!"

"Yes, it's up to you, Princess. I'm just offering a suggestion," Tama said gently.

Finally, Kirana decided to collect all her jewelry into one chest. Then she went to sell it, hoping to raise enough money for her upcoming project.

In Jakarta, Nadia sat by the window, gazing outside. She was still waiting to hear from Tama. It occurred to her to visit Tama's parents in Banten. But then she thought again: Tama should be the one to bring her there. If she went alone, it might seem rude. Tomorrow was Saturday, and Nadia hoped that Tama would come to visit her.

Tama, on the other hand, was also thinking about Nadia. He was daydreaming in front of the pool while imagining her face. Suddenly, he was called by Limbur. Surprised, Tama moved his hand unintentionally, and a beam of light shot from it, electrocuting Limbur.

"Forgive me, sir... forgive me!" Limbur shouted.

"Ehhhh... Limbur, sorry! I didn't mean to," Tama said, rushing to Limbur, whose face now looked charred. He fell limp.

Feeling guilty, Tama carried Limbur to his room.

"Duh, what should I do now?" Tama muttered.

"It's fine, sir. I'm used to getting electrocuted or scolded by the Princess. But how come you have superpowers now?" Limbur asked.

"Oh, this was lent to me by the Grim Reaper," Tama replied.

Then Limbur delivered a message from Kirana: she and Denok would return home late at night, and Kirana allowed Tama to go out of the villa if he wanted to.

Tama thanked Limbur for the information. "I'll bring you some good food as a sign of apology."

"You don't have to... but if you insist, I'll accept it," said Limbur, smiling.

"Then I'll head out before the sun sets," Tama said.

Tama made his way to Devan's house. On the way, he passed by Ara, who was sitting alone and counting flower petals.

"Meet, no, meet, no, meet... so I have to meet Devan?" Ara said, confused.

Tama sat beside her. "Ra, it's been a long time since we've hung out. I'm borrowing Devan for a while, I need his help."

Ara shivered and stood up slowly. "Why do I suddenly feel scared?"

"Don't be afraid, Ra. It's me, Tama, your old friend," he tried to assure her.

"Mommmmmyyyyy! I'm scared!" Ara screamed and ran away.

Tama sighed, feeling disheartened that he couldn't communicate with his best friend without frightening her.

He continued his journey and finally arrived at Devan's house. Devan was waiting at the door, wearing a black robe and black sunglasses.

"Bro, what's with the outfit?" Tama asked.

"I'm dressed like a Grim Reaper, bro," Devan replied.

"No way, bro. Don't wear sunglasses at night, you'll look ridiculous."

"Yeah, yeah," Devan said, tossing his sunglasses back into the house.

Together, they set off to hunt the vengeful ghost. The Grim Reaper had mentioned that such a ghost could be identified by a sudden rise in temperature and its tendency to hide in dark places.

They walked across a dimly lit bridge. Tama scanned the area while Devan leaned on the railing, casually playing on his phone.

Suddenly, Devan felt hot, and sweat began to drip down his face. A spirit appeared before him and tried to embrace him, intending to possess his body.

"Tam! Tama! Help!!!" Devan screamed.

Tama turned quickly and blasted the spirit with a beam of white light, hitting its arm. The spirit shrieked and fled.

"Hey, wait!!" Tama shouted, chasing after it.

They ran through the night, trying to catch the vengeful ghost, but it disappeared quickly into the shadows.

Meanwhile, Ara was wandering alone by the river. She missed Devan, whom she hadn't seen in a while. Though they were just friends, their bond had been strong, and she felt the void.

From afar, Tama noticed Ara.

"Eh bro, isn't that Ara?" Tama asked, nudging Devan.

"That's her! Let's go!" Devan replied.

As they approached, the vengeful spirit reappeared and entered Ara's body. She suddenly turned hostile.

"Go away, both of you!" Ara screamed.

"Get out of my friend's body!" Tama shouted.

"Don't come any closer, or I'll jump into the river with this girl's body!" the ghost threatened.

Tama and Devan froze, terrified. But the spirit in Ara's body moved closer to the edge of the river.

"ARAAAAA!!!" both of them yelled in unison.

"Say goodbye to your friend! Hahahaha!" the ghost laughed maniacally.

In that heart-pounding moment, the river glimmered under the moonlight, and a sudden gust of wind rustled the nearby trees. Tama focused his energy and whispered a chant he had read from one of Kirana's old scrolls. Devan clasped his hands together, silently praying that Ara would survive. The scene was tense, but Tama knew he had to act quickly. A plan was forming in his mind—a risky one, but their only shot at saving Ara before it was too late.
