The level of control that they had had over the authority of the pathway of undying had been limited to the same level that the telepaths had over the Mind Palace.
They could only borrow its ultimate divine ability to use. But the authority didn't belong to them.
Now that they have become angels of undying, they can begin the process of fusing with it. They were finally able to communicate with the golden authority and learn that its name is Everlasting Gemstone.
They also learned that just like the Mind Palace, they should be done fusing with it in one year, and they should be able to get a divine fragment from it once they reach a fusion rate of 50%.
Unfortunately for them, they can't fuse with more than one authority at the same time. They will have to set aside the Mind Palace and put fusing with it on hold if they want to fuse with the Everlasting Gemstone.
