Chapter 39 - Chapter 37 - Gohan’s Final Stand – One Arm, One Hope, One Shot

A breathless silence fell over the battlefield.

Cracks zigzagged across the earth, ki smoke curled from distant craters, and the Z Fighters lay scattered—injured, unconscious, but alive. In the eye of the storm stood two figures:

Cell, the Perfect Bio-Android, radiating malevolent confidence.

Gohan, the prodigy of Earth, his golden aura calm, yet burning.

Their eyes locked.

Gohan took the first step forward.

Cell smiled. "So, the boy still has strength left."

Gohan didn't respond. He vanished.

BAM!

A golden streak slammed into Cell's side with a thundering impact. Cell skidded backward, arms raised just in time to block a second blow to the face. His smirk dropped.

"Fast…"

Gohan appeared above him, leg raised high—

CRACK! A downward axe kick sent Cell plummeting into the earth, creating a deep crater.

Before the smoke even cleared, Gohan was already charging another blast—

"Masenko… HA!"

The energy beam exploded into the crater, kicking up a massive cloud of dust and flame.

Everyone watching—Goku, Roshi, Piccolo, the Z fighters, the battered Saiyans—felt it and they woke up from unconsciousness.

This wasn't the same Gohan they knew.

But from the smoke, Cell burst out, not laughing anymore.

He struck back hard—a lightning-fast jab aimed at Gohan's ribs. Gohan barely dodged but was grazed, spinning in the air. Cell capitalized, teleporting behind him and slamming an elbow into his spine.

Gohan coughed in pain, catching himself midair.

BOOM! Cell followed with a knee to Gohan's stomach, sending the boy crashing into a nearby cliff.

"You may be strong," Cell said, dusting himself off, "but I'm perfection. I don't lose."

From the rubble, Gohan emerged, panting—but smiling.

"You talk too much."

The air between them snapped with displaced energy.

They flew at each other.

Punch met punch. Kick met block. Their movements blurred even to the Z Fighters' trained eyes.

Cell spun and released a Destructo Disc barrage—a Krillin move.

Gohan weaved between them with terrifying precision and countered with a barrage of Ki lances, a Piccolo-style move.

They were mimicking their mentors—but faster, harder, sharper.

In a blur, Gohan grabbed Cell's wrist mid-punch and twisted, snapping the joint and following with a double palm blast to the chest.

Cell screamed as he flew back, smoke trailing from his body.

Gohan landed, panting, his clothes scuffed, his aura wild.

Cell got up, holding his side. Regeneration already beginning.

"Incredible," Cell muttered. "You're better than expected."

Gohan narrowed his eyes. "You're not invincible."

"Perhaps not." Cell flexed. "But you're tiring. And I… regenerate."

With a roar, Cell powered up further.

The earth split beneath him. His aura turned jagged, dark blue bolts dancing around his body. His true full power began to emerge.

The next flurry was even faster.

Cell's Tail Strike aimed for Gohan's spine—blocked by a golden shield of ki.

Gohan's Instant Transmission to Cell's flank—intercepted by a spinning kick.

Their fists collided so hard that shockwaves leveled nearby trees.

Goku, watching from the sidelines, ready to intervene. He knew Gohan could do it and he was stopping himself real hard from flying over and just erasing Cell from Hakai. But, he knew Gohan needed this Growth, they all did for the future battles to come.

In a flash, Cell launched a Kamehameha. Gohan countered with a Masenko-HA!

The beams collided and detonated in midair, throwing them apart.

They landed, both panting.

Blood on Gohan's lip. Burns on Cell's side.

Cell growled, preparing another flurry of attacks, but paused.

Gohan stood tall. Calm. Focused. His breathing even.

Despite the scuffle, Gohan's energy was steady—unwavering.

Cell's eye twitched.

He's conserving energy better than I am...

Cell lunged again—but Gohan dodged with minimal movement. A tilt. A twist. A deflection.

Then—a devastating counterpunch straight to Cell's core.

Cell gagged, eyes wide.

Gohan pressed in with a barrage of attacks: hooks, uppercuts, charged ki blasts point-blank.

Cell stumbled, for the first time truly on the defensive.

The winds howled across the shattered battlefield. The air felt heavier than ever.

Cell, battered, panting, now truly desperate, floated into the sky, his expression twisted with rage and disbelief. Blood dripped from his mouth, but his power still surged—destructive, chaotic, and unrelenting.

Below him stood Gohan, golden aura flickering, chest heaving, electricity crackling from his Super Saiyan 2 form. Though bloodied and bruised, his spirit remained unbroken.

Cell raised his hands above his head. Ki pooled rapidly into his palms, forming a massive black-and-blue Kamehameha, larger than any the Earth had ever seen.

"You arrogant brat… Die along with your precious Planet!!"

Gohan's eyes widened. The sheer energy from the blast was warping the sky above and shaking the Earth below.

A world-ending Kamehameha.

But Gohan didn't flinch.

He slowly raised his own hand, gathering energy in his palm. His aura flared. Golden, proud, resolute.

"I won't let you…"

A massive beam erupted from both palms—his Kamehameha launching upward, clashing with Cell's in a titanic wave of force. The battlefield lit up in a blinding storm of blue and gold. The ground cracked. Mountains trembled. Even the skies above split in color.

But as the struggle unfolded—a blur of movement darted across the field.

A single Cell Junior, barely alive, had slipped through the cracks during the chaos.

"Gohan!!" Piccolo shouted too late.

The Cell Junior slammed into Gohan's side, raking its claws across his left shoulder, tearing muscle and ligaments. Blood sprayed. Gohan screamed in pain and dropped to one knee, his left arm limp and useless.

His Kamehameha wavered.

Piccolo's aura surged violently. His eyes burned with fury.

"DIE!!"

The Namekian warrior leapt forward and fired a point-blank Ki blast, vaporizing the last Cell Junior in a single devastating explosion.

But the damage was done.

Gohan's blast was faltering.

Then, one by one… the others stood up.

Bruised. Battered. But still breathing.

Tien gritted his teeth and charged his Tri-Beam.

Krillin, barely standing, summoned a Destructo Disc.

Yamcha, panting, charged a Energy Ball Volley enveloped in Kaioken.

Raditz and Nappa surged forward with twin Double Sundays.

Even Trunks, bloodied but fueled by his father's sacrifice, lifted his sword and roared.

Together, they unleashed their strongest attacks—a hailstorm of energy blasts and techniques, crashing into Cell from every side.

"FOR EARTH!"

"FOR GOHAN!"

"FOR EVERYONE YOU KILLED!"

Cell screamed as the barrage struck.

But then—

He laughed.

From within the smoke, Cell flared his aura like a supernova. The golden sky dimmed to black as a dome of energy burst out from his body, obliterating everything in a 500-meter radius.

The Z Fighters were thrown like ragdolls, crashing into the rubble with cries of pain and disbelief. Dust clouds swallowed the field. Silence fell.

Only one figure remained standing beside of Gohan.

Piccolo.

One eye swollen. Gi shredded. But a Special Beam Cannon charged to the limit.

The Namekian warrior glared up at Cell.

"You'll… never win…"

A green spiral of energy coiled from his fingertips.

"Makankōsappō!!!!"

The Special Beam Cannon, glowing brighter than ever before, ripped through the sky toward Cell. The tyrant raised his arm just in time, slapping the beam aside—his skin burning, his hand scarred.

But that moment—

That single second—

Was enough.

Gohan screamed, pure rage and love surging from his chest.

His body glowed like a supernova, the Earth beneath him cracking.

"CELL!!!!!"

His right arm extended, fingers locked.

The Kamehameha grew once more, massive and burning like the sun.

"THIS IS FOR MY FRIENDS!! AND FOR EVERYONE ON EARTH!!"

He launched it.

The beam surged forward—unstoppable, fueled by everything Gohan had left.

Cell turned in shock—

Too slow.

"NOOOOO—"

BOOM!!!

The blast consumed Cell completely. No screams. No regeneration. No surviving cell.

Only dust and a silent crater remained.

Silence returned.

The smoke cleared.

The Z Fighters slowly rose, their eyes wide.

Goku, still beside Vegeta, smiled proudly.

Piccolo fell to his knees, exhausted.

And at the center stood Gohan, one arm hanging limp, his eyes filled with tears—but victorious.

They did it. They saved Earth!
