Gu Ningyue was held in Ling Tianyou's arms, then she watched as Ling Tianyou nodded, and closed her eyes again.
After an unknown amount of time, Gu Ningyue, in a daze, heard a sigh from Ling Tianyou in her ear, along with some words she couldn't clearly make out.
Her mind was muddled, faintly hearing, "If only... it would be good..." and remembered nothing else.
At dawn the next day, when Gu Ningyue was awakened by the bright sunlight, the spacious room had already lost any trace of Ling Tianyou.
Gu Ningyue slowly sat up, took a glance at the time on her phone, and it was surprisingly already ten in the morning.
Had she really slept that long? Damn!
She got up and dressed quickly; after a simple wash, Gu Ningyue called Aunt Zhang: "Where's Tianyou? Has he already left?"
Aunt Zhang nodded: "President Ling left for the company at nine and instructed us not to wake Young Madam you, so we didn't come to call you."
