The battlefield had already begun to quiet when Jun Mo Xie chose to reveal himself.
The earlier chaos had receded into a grim aftermath of groans, drifting dust, and the coppery scent of blood thick in the air. The Xuan Beasts were withdrawing in disciplined waves, as though an invisible conductor had raised a baton and signaled the end of their violent symphony.
What remained of the Allied army stood scattered and shaken, their formation broken, their confidence in tatters. Their pride had been crushed far more thoroughly than bone.
It was in this strange, suspended stillness that Jun Mo Xie stepped forward and appeared beside Solitary Falcon as naturally as a shadow returning to its owner.
Solitary Falcon sensed him first rather than saw him. He turned his head abruptly, sharp eyes narrowing before recognition dawned. Something fierce and delighted lit up his expression. Though he did not understand every hidden thread behind the battle's bizarre turn, he understood enough.
He seized Jun Mo Xie by the shoulders and laughed, the sound rich and unrestrained.
"Good brat!"
The praise was simple, but it carried genuine approval. There was satisfaction in his voice, and perhaps even a hint of pride.
Jun Mo Xie merely inclined his head slightly, his lips curving into a faint, knowing smile. He said nothing, but his eyes gleamed with quiet mischief.
"What are you laughing at? Solitary Falcon! The Allied army is losing! Does that make you happy? Does it make you proud…?"
Li Jue Tian's furious voice cut across the clearing like a blade drawn too quickly from its sheath. He turned slowly, his eyes burning with restrained violence.
The humiliation of the battlefield had already weighed heavily on him, and Solitary Falcon's laughter poured oil onto an open flame.
Solitary Falcon released Jun Mo Xie and stepped forward, his own temper rising without hesitation. "I fucking am! Li Jue Tian, you're fucked. But I'm not, got it?"
His voice was sharp and fearless. "Others can't laugh because the people from your Manor are dying? What logic is that? This is the third time you've troubled me today! Fuck! You think the Solitary Falcon is some moldable clay?"
His aura surged outward in response to his anger, the air around him rippling with invisible force.
Li Jue Tian's face darkened further. The veins along his forehead throbbed visibly.
Today had been disaster after disaster.
The Xuan Beasts had acted strangely. Their assaults had faltered at critical moments. His carefully laid plans had unraveled in ways he could neither predict nor explain. And now, before all these witnesses, Solitary Falcon dared to mock him openly.
"Stop, I say!"
The voice that intervened was neither loud nor harsh, yet it spread across the battlefield with astonishing clarity.
It did not need volume to command attention. It carried authority that settled directly into the bones.
Both men stiffened.
The mysterious master stepped forward slowly, robes stirring lightly in the breeze. His presence was calm, yet the air seemed to grow heavier with each step he took.
"Aren't you ashamed to jump like clowns here?" He asked, his tone cool and cutting. "With such shameless display by your side, you should be ashamed to even speak here."
Lei Wu Bei and Bu Kuang Feng exchanged faint snorts of agreement, their gazes drifting toward Li Jue Tian with thinly veiled disdain.
Even among the strongest, dignity had its limits, and today's spectacle had stretched them thin.
For a brief moment, Li Jue Tian stood frozen beneath that rebuke. Then his pride surged violently, overwhelming reason. He let out a furious shout and lunged forward once more, unwilling to bow before a reprimand delivered in public.
He was the Second Great Master of the world. His name carried weight, and his authority was unquestioned.
He would not halt simply because someone commanded it, especially not when that someone stood against him.
Solitary Falcon's eyes sharpened instantly.
If Li Jue Tian insisted on escalating matters, then he would meet him head-on.
His Xuan Qi roared within his meridians like a gathering storm as he prepared to counter.
Yet before either man could complete a single exchange, the world seemed to blur.
The mysterious master moved.
One moment, he stood several paces away, and then the next, he was directly before Li Jue Tian. His hand shot forward with terrifying precision and seized him by the throat mid-charge.
The momentum of his attack collapsed as though it had struck an immovable mountain.
He then drove him downward without hesitation.
Bang!!
The impact shook the ground as Li Jue Tian's head smashed into a jagged rock, stone splintering beneath the force.
The dust erupted around them.
Before Li Jue Tian could recover his senses, his palm struck his face.
Smack!
The sound rang out sharply, echoing across the clearing.
"I told you to stop! Didn't you hear, you bastard?! You old bastard!"
The mysterious master's restraint had shattered, and the calm authority from moments earlier had ignited into unmistakable fury.
Smack!Smack!Smack!
Another slap followed, then a backhand that snapped his head sideways.
He did not allow Li Jue Tian even the dignity of regaining his footing. His hands and feet moved with terrifying speed, delivering a relentless barrage of punches and kicks. Each strike was controlled enough to avoid killing him, yet forceful enough to send shockwaves through his body.
"Are you deaf? Couldn't you hear me? Am I not able to make you listen? How dare you not listen to me? Can't you hear me, you shameless thing? You cuckolded, old, filthy, shameless, lowly bastard dared to pretend that he couldn't hear me?"
Every insult landed alongside a blow.
The dust swirled violently around them as the Second Great Master of the world was beaten into the earth like an unruly child.
Li Jue Tian attempted to gather his Xuan Qi, but it felt as though an invisible mountain pressed upon him. His energy scattered the instant it tried to condense. His limbs were heavy and unresponsive beneath the oppressive force of his opponent's cultivation.
His elegant robes tore, and blood seeped from his mouth. His once imposing figure was reduced to a battered, dirt-streaked silhouette beneath his wrath.
Around them, the silence spread rapidly.
The remaining experts watched in stunned disbelief.
None of them dared to intervene or speak for Li Jue Tian.
Solitary Falcon's earlier fury had evaporated, replaced by astonishment. He was clearly pleased to see Li Jue Tian getting beaten like that, just like a dog.
Jun Mo Xie stood quietly, hands clasped behind his back, observing with calm composure. A faint glimmer of satisfaction flickered within his gaze, though his expression remained outwardly neutral.
Li Jue Tian's pride was shattered with each strike.
The pain was secondary to him.
What burned far more fiercely was humiliation.
After decades of cultivation and prestige, and the awe he commanded wherever he went, all of it crumbled beneath the relentless slaps and scolding.
He glared upward through swelling eyes, fury and grief twisting together within him. He longed to roar, to fight back, to reclaim even a fragment of dignity. Yet his body refused him, and his strength was utterly suppressed.
A terrible thought rose unbidden in his heart.
'I want to die!'
Death would have been cleaner and would have preserved at least a shred of honor.
This spectacle, this public dismantling of his authority, carved far deeper than any blade.
At last, when the mysterious master finally stepped back, his breathing steady once more, Li Jue Tian lay half-embedded in the shattered ground, chest heaving, face bruised beyond recognition.
He looked down at him coldly.
"If I tell you to stop," He said evenly, "you will stop. The next time you ignore me, I will not leave you breathing."
His words were calm again, but no one doubted their sincerity.
The battlefield remained utterly silent.
And in that silence, the legend of the Second Great Master cracked beyond repair.
