Once back at home it was clear after a brief discussion with Kota that Seto was long gone.
(He couldn't have gotten out that easy, someone has to be helping him so we're probably looking for a group of people.)
As my thoughts ramble throughout my head I continue to search all of the old papers I had received over the past few months and scan each one.
(They all look different, but that can be easy if there are more then one person involved.)
Just then I hear the door shut behind me, I turn my head to see Kadachi sit on the sofa behind me.
"Ya know…"
I pause what I'm doing as I feel the vibe shift.
"My father just called me, he said he has some information for me and to meet him at moms grave…"
I turn towards him as the sound of lightning strikes near by. His face colder then usual.
"Do you want me to go with you?"
He instantly shakes his head.
"No it's best you stay here where I know your safe, if you were to be out right now who knows what would happen at a time like this…Just…I need you to do one thing for me."
He inches closer to me as the sound of rain starts to poor loudly and the wind picks up heavily. He reaches his hand out and touches my cheek while placing something cold and metal into the my lap, instantly knowing what it was.
"Kadachi…"
He ignores me and pulls me into a hug and places a kiss on my forehead.
"I want-No I need you to shoot and kill whoever it may be that so happens to target you. Kota will be outside and so will the police but at this moment we have no idea who we're dealing with all together, I doubt anyone will pull a move tonight but I can't risk it. Stay put."
Before I could say anything at all Kota rushes in soaking wet.
"Hey-Uh oh I'm so sorry…but sir you have to go now…"
Kadachi nods at him before giving me one last look at me and rushing out.
(Kadachi pov)
"Sir, do you really think your fathers info is really that important?"
I nod while grabbing my coat and umbrella.
"I really can't explain right now Kota just keep and eye out on things here for the moment and I'll be back in about an hour."
Kota nods and I rush out the door.
(If I hesitate now I might lose him forever…They cant know…)
(Kairi pov)
(Something feels off, but why…what is it…)
Just then I hear a knock on the door and Kota's voice on the other end.
"It's me, can I come in for a moment?"
"Yeah, Do you know about the info Kadachi was talking about?"
As Kota walks in I set the gun down next to me as I continue to shuffle through the papers.
"No, he just rushed off saying he'd explain once he got back."
(Typical Kadachi-)
Just then the power cuts off as soon as the sound of lightning ripples through the air loudly.
"Oh geez, Lady Kairi are you ok?"
I quickly sit back up and look around. It was pitch dark so much so I couldn't even see my own hands.
"Yeah, what about you?"
Expecting a response I pause when I hear nine.
"Kota-"
A dooming sense of feeling hits me when the sound of a gun safety going off had me instantly roll away from where I was pulling the desk in front of me as I hear shots ring out.
(N-no way did someone get in here this quick, Oh no Kota is still-)
Just then the sound I was expecting to hear before finally broke the silence after shells began to hit the floor and the shooting stopped.
" Wow, who knew your reflexes got this good in just a small amount of time…It kinda amazes me ya know…"
(It's best to not say anything.)
"What's wrong? I know your not dead yet, I would smell blood by now if you were…"
A coldness runs through me and for a moment fear paralyzes me and I gulp.
"Your probably wondering why eh?"
Silence
"Well, seeing that you're gonna die here tonight I guess I don't see why I wouldn't tell you now."
(Just stay calm, he can't see just as much as me so we have a little time…)
"But first, let's get rid of this ridiculous excuse of a shield-"
(Now!)
I take a deep breath as he kicks the table away I instantly throw in my first punch, it lands straight into his face and I feel him fall away from me.
(Ok, now run!)
As I turn to quickly make my escape I quickly push the door open as I hear three shots ring out behind me I feel one hit my right shoulder and I hit the floor hard, I instantly get back up and rush outside clutching my shoulder.
(Damn him too, I should of seen this right?! Doesn't matter, I have to find Kadachi now! The grave site is just a 2 mile run there…I can do this...)
(Kadachi pov)
As I wait near the grave site I light a cigarette and stare at the stone before me. The rain begins to pick up as I glance at my watch.
"Common old man where you at?!"
(Yuki pov)
(There…Just a bit more to go!)
Just as I make it to the graveyard entrance I'm instantly tackled into the mud with a hand wrapped around my throat.
"This time…haha…This time I won't let you get away!"
I try to scratch at his hands as he squeezes with all his might.
(No…I can't...)
"Ko-ta…Please…"
I look into his eyes as I grit my teeth trying to pry his hands off.
"You're in our way, I have no choice in this!"
As I feel my vision begin to blur I feel my hand hit something hard as I start to see blackness around me I muster the last bit of strength and smash whatever it was I felt into his face and hear him scream in pain and let go of me falling backwards clutching his right eye.
I begin to profusely cough and wince in pain from my shoulder in doing so I feel my vision begin to fade even more as I watch Kota make his way back to me.
(I can't fend him off…Not like this.)
"I pity you Kairi, you wouldn't even be in the middle of this if you weren't here in the first place…With you around you'd only be more of a burden, I'm sorry but it has to be this way! Even if you do survive this which I doubt you will considering where your shot, you will never recover and we will just keep coming!"
I watch him limp away as the cold rain hits my face I try to focus on breathing.
(It hurts, I'm freezing and…Kadachi still…needs me…)
I cough a little and force myself to stand as I clutch my shoulder Instantly feeling even more lightheaded.
"I must move fast…"
I quickly take off towards where Kota ran off to.
(Kadachi pov)
Just then I hear some leaves rustle near a path to my right and look over to see a familiar face.
"Kota? What the hell are you doing here right now you should be-"
As he gets closer I could tell he looked like he went through hell and was nearly out of breath as he held onto the tree for support.
"Kadachi, Thank God I found you!"
My heart sinks as I spot blood covering his face and clothes.
"Kota what happened?!"
Kota limps forward and I catch him as he falls forward.
"Hey answer me?!"
An unusual pause sends chills down my spine and I go to pull away to look at him but he grabs ahold of my arm.
"I'm sorry Kadachi…I truly am."
Before I could react I feel something sharp stab into my upper side and twist, I instantly break free from his grasp and knock him into one of the near by tombstones.
"Kota, what did you do?!"
Shocked by what just occurred I clutch my injured side and we both stop as we hear a faint noise, I instantly turn to see a dirty and bloodied up Kairi breathing heavily walking down the path.
(Kairi pov)
Just as I lay eyes on them I instantly dart towards Kadachi who was clutching his side that looked to be bleeding a lot.
"Kadachi are you ok?!"
He nods while keeping his eyes targeted onto Kota.
"Yeah, so I'm assuming you have been a part of Seto's gang for awhile now I take it? Why what's the motive behind all of this?"
Kota laughs as a few men from the woods approach us from all around.
"Ya know Kadachi, I would love to answer all these questions but seeing as my backup has finally arrived I should just get this over with and return as soon as possible…I've stayed longer then needed and my boss will get upset if I don't return soon."
(This isn't good, I'm starting to get dizzier.)
As I start to have double vision I clutch my head with my hand.
(This isn't good…)
A flash of white appears before me and before I could comprehend what it was I pass out.
(Kadachi pov)
(I can't get us out of here this time, we're surrounded…)
As the rain pounds onto my skin and drips off the tips of my hair I could see my breath as the air grew more crisp.
I take a couple of deep breaths before finally sighing.
(This situation is very tense right now.)
"This is all about Seto's lineage isn't it?"
Kota chuckles before grabbing one of his assistants guns to point it at us, I take notice of Kairi beginning to waver.
(She's about to faint-)
"Looks like I'll kill her first!"
Just as he points the gun towards her I instantly step in front of his view of her with her standing behind me.
"Kairi you need to leave!"
Kota shoots but I stay still and he misses my cheek by a hair.
"You're not getting out of this alive Kadachi!"
Just then a loud gunshot rings throughout the area piercing Kota's hand forcing him to release the gun he had and a bunch of people come out of nowhere attacking Kota and his men.
(Kairi!)
Just as I turn around I see a familiar face holding Kairi who had passed out.
"Ikaku, what are you doing here?"
He chuckles while pulling Kairi into his arm to carry her, he places his jacket over her as the rain poor even harder.
"I think that's a conversation for another time old friend. Let's get you guys out of here first."
