Chapter 12 - A little gift

The 'not again' expression on his face was really apparent this time.

Looking at this, Aion chuckled a bit.

"Better make this quick", Ken said arrogantly.

"You have a guest... or rather, you'll become a guess. Oh, and be polite"

"Huh"

The scenery change again as it was a dark world with everchanging numbers far on the horizon.

"Finally, I get to meet you", a domineering voice transmitted over to his head telepathically.

At this point, Ken couldn't care less about things and just answered nonchalantly, "make this quick"

"Heh, a cocky one aren't you? Just because that wheel gave you pain immunity?", he said as his voice turned colder.

Ken shivered for a moment and realized that he was feeling freezing cold. Although it wasn't exactly a long time ago that he first transmigrated, he was already used to his numb-zombielike body, and now he felt a thing again.

The everchanging numbers on the background started to stop and freezes with blue cold colors painting the horizon

"Alright, what would you want with this humble soul?", Ken said sightly more respectfully.

"Hahahahaha, you're quite funny as a mere lucky soul", the voice said as it formed a humanoid silhouette with glowing dark colour, it opened its eyes which was simply a glowing green 0. The numbers on the background also turned normal again.

"Numbers? What? You're god of programming or mathematics or something?"

"Mortal, I'm giving you a chance here, would you accept it?", the humanoid asked, completely ignoring Ken's questions.

Ken didn't take it to heart and replied while closing his eyes in a wise manner, "I had a saying in my original world, there are no coincidence, so that means you offering this to me are all part of a fate"

Ken opened his eyes slightly only to see that humanoid glaring at him emotionlessly as if anything except the answer wouldn't be replied.

"Ehem", Ken clears his throat. "Of course, there was also a saying that humans are creatures of improvement and so no matter how small a chance was, if it's a possibility then we would try it. So I will herebly accept your gift"

"I'm disappointed", the humanoid left.

"Huh? W-wait!", Ken chased after him and tried to grab him. But as he was just touching that glowing dark body his, his hands were gone.

"Wait, please, I will accept whatever it is"

How could Ken miss this? He was just acting cocky earlier because he thought that powerful guys would like someone with a backbone! Damnit, was all that he learnt back then all bullshit?

No matter what, he HAD to get this gift.

The humanoid suddenly stopped and turned around, that two zeros on his head were ever so emotionless.

"No matter what, I took a liking to you, so I will be responsible just this once", the humanoid waved his arms, as dozens of those background numbers entered Ken. It made him started convulsing as if he were electrified.

Inside his head, foreign memories appeared all at once which made him lost his conciousness immediately after.

He woke up after a while and found himself back at the grassland.

His head was hurting as foreign knowledge appeared one after another. After about half an hour he sorted it all.

"Profile"

*bzzt* a sizzle sounded in his head as suddenly a blue transparent window appeared in front of him.

[Simplified Profile]

Name: He Ken

Title: lifeless, immortal, dragon slayer-

Age: 24

Level: undefined

Status: alive, cursed, transmigrated

Attributes(simplified):

- strength: 0.4

- Intelligence: 0.3

- spirit: 3

- energy: 1000

[power level: 1048(+∞)]

After viewing his profile, he shook his head. Now he knew who the humanoid was, obviously he was the god of system, genesis.

He appeared to get the low authority level assist system from him, although it's not bad but it's essentially useless and would only roast him because of his low Intelligence.

"What's spirit and energy though?", Ken wondered for a while. He searched through his memories but didn't find anything. Most of the system features were locked, leaving only profile and achievement.

"Let's try achievement this time"

[Achievement]

(reward: Amateur dragon slayer title)

[V expand V]

Ken clicked expand with his mind and looked over all his achievement.

"Haa, this one ain't useful too", he said dejectedly and closed the blue window. Although there were many achievement, most of them don't have reward at all or the rewards were insignificant, also, because of his lacking of authority, he also didn't know of the titles effect. Among the system features, he saw [info] section along with [skills], [options], etc but it was locked.

"Looks like he really was dissatisfied with me. Haa, fine, it's okay like this, at least there is something and as I see it, it will unlock everything over time

"Alright, now what? Hmm I forgot what I want to do", he said as he wandered around the empty grassland.

"Eh?", just at that moment, he found a small spatial crack far away before instantly closing.

He then walked to it and tried tearing the space.

"I still don't know how this works but if I just open it like this-Whoa", The space cracked open again, revealing the dwarf city that he had seen behind it.

Without further ado, he went in with excitement.

Just as he flew in, the huge city spiraled while shrinking into a small space crack and disappeared once more.

This time, Ken was really furious.

In rage, he charged into the small cracked and entered it again with full speed.

The city appeared in front of him again. Not wanting it disappear in front of him again, he quickly approached it.

*Bam-zzz*

Half of his head was melted as he collided into an invisible barrier, expectedly. He grew his head instantly with a bit of his own mana so he could quickly find a way to enter

But once again, the city disappeared into a space crack once more.

He was about to explode from rage when-

*boom*

An explosion occurred where he was standing, most likely would've him completely obliterated had he not dodged quickly enough, though, it still destroyed most of his body which regenerated again. He then fell to the ground, tumbling.

As his eyes recovered, he looked over the darkest soil which was likely the source of the explosion. It was from the former space crack.

As a modern human, Ken had a big enough patience, so this matter wouldn't aggravate him too much.

But, as a wise man once said, 'all things that could go wrong, would go wrong'.

In front of his eyes was a large group of tall humanoids with long pointy ears.

"Damnit", he thought.

The leader in front of these elves was a tall handsome elf, with a scar on his nose. He gazed at Ken seriously, "Who are you? What purpose you had on coming here?", the leader said, seemingly wary of who had suddenly appeared on his territory.

These group of elf actually had just found out that a huge amount of energy was exuded in this place and had suddenly disappeared. When they arrived here, the only one they saw was a strange human, floating in the air. Naturally, they trust their experienced battle sense that this human is dangerous and their energy reading device or they would've captured this human first and interrogate him later. It's sensitive times afterall.

Seeing this, Ken then approached the leader and said slowly, "I was chasing a flame dwarf village, it was here and it disappeared again, are you willing to help me find it again?"

Although his heart was in turmoil, the elf leader still had his guard up.

"A flame dwarves city?" he asked again.

"Yes", Ken answered clearly.

The elves in the front that had heard it started chuckling for a moment but stopped shortly after.

Ken raised his eyebrows at this. What was funny?

"Strong as you may appear, it seemed that you're a little foolish", one of them said.

"Oh?"

He then manipulated the air, choked that elf who had just talked and brought him to Ken's hand that's already in a choking motion.

As he got the elf in his hands, he got closer.

"it seemed that yours truly is indeed a little foolish. Mind teaching me?", he said imposingly.

"Y-yes, p-please", the choked elf started turning blue from the lack of oxygen.

Ken released him and the elf dropped to the ground coughing.

"So? Who are you guys?", he asked to the elf leader

"W-we are fro-", the coughing elf answered, not knowing who was asked because he was still facing the ground.

*plak*

"I didn't ask you", Ken said after slapping him.

The already wobbling elf collapsed, unconscious on the ground.

The leader gulped his own saliva and quickly answered, "we are the patrol team of Northern Elf Battalion, We got here quickly after reading a huge energy influx here"

An idea appeared in Ken's brain. He thought that he could use this patrol team to gather information about Elf kingdom's condition but..

'This might be tricky', Ken thought.

He remembered those elves he met shortly after transmigrating here. Those guys must've remembered him.

The biggest problem is that He didn't know where they went after that so he wasn't sure whether going to this northern battalion would be a good idea as he might just be instantly hunted down.

"Then? It wouldn't be that short of an answer right? What were you planning to do with me?"

The elves started sweating

"N-Nothing, we absolutely didn't plan to do anything", the leader said.

"Take me there"

"R-Right away... huh?"

"I made myself clear"

"B-But.."

"Don't worry, I won't do anything"

Hell, who is this guy fooling? even a kid knows the motive of this human in front of him.

The elf then remembered those powerful higher ups of his and just agreed promptly.
