In Jiang Yanna's mind, Qiao Meixia had probably insisted on going out only because she was overly eager to experience the glittering city after finally escaping the impoverished rural area where she had grown up. While speaking, Jiang Yanna also tried her best to get a clearer look at the mysterious person who had come to pick Qiao Meixia up, her eyes narrowing as she strained to see past the gate.
Unfortunately, she could not catch even the slightest glimpse of the rider's face because the person was completely covered up by a professional helmet that concealed their features perfectly. However, judging from the tall figure and broad shoulders alone, Jiang Yanna could confidently conclude that the rider was definitely a man.
"Dad, Mom... I think we really need to find a way to stop Meixia from getting involved with other men." Jiang Yanna stated seriously once the motorcycle had completely disappeared into the distance.
"I know. We need to keep a close eye on her from now on. Otherwise, that family might think we tried to deceive them by giving them a defective daughter." Jiang Lukang nodded in firm agreement with Jiang Yanna's opinion, his mind already calculating the potential fallout.
"Well, if it turns out that she is already ruined by the time the wedding arrives, then we can simply tell that family that we knew absolutely nothing about her past and let them handle her themselves in exchange for the business deal." Feng Yan stated coldly, the gentle, maternal façade she usually wore completely disappearing from her face.
"That is a great idea. Let that family deal with her however they want." Jiang Chinan laughed mockingly, already imagining the trouble and humiliation Qiao Meixia would face in the future.
...
Near the gate, Qiao Meixia effortlessly caught the matte-black helmet that the rider tossed toward her with a smooth and precise motion.
"Get on." The rider gestured toward the seat behind them with a slight tilt of the head.
Qiao Meixia nodded lightly before putting on the helmet and climbing onto the back of the motorcycle. The rider immediately revved the powerful engine loudly, the roar echoing throughout the entire estate, before speeding off into the night. The sudden and aggressive sound of the engine startled everyone still standing outside the house. However, Qiao Meixia neither knew nor cared about their reactions at all.
The motorcycle sped effortlessly through the busy city streets, weaving through the traffic before eventually arriving at a high-end nightclub. They parked discreetly in the underground parking area before entering the venue through a private back entrance. When the heavily built bouncers saw them approaching, they immediately recognised the rider after the rider showed something, stepping aside to allow them to enter without question.
The two of them walked directly past the loud main floor and headed toward a secure private room upstairs.
After entering the room, Qiao Meixia casually sat down on the plush sofa and ordered a drink for herself, finally relaxing her posture.
"Meimei, how is your new home?" The person who had brought her there asked lazily, leaning against the wall.
"They want me to do something for them, but I still do not know what exactly they are planning." Qiao Meixia replied calmly, swirling the liquid in her glass.
"Oh... That sounds interesting." the person chuckled softly. "Do you want me to investigate it for you?"
"No need. I will handle it myself." Qiao Meixia stated directly, her tone leaving no room for argument.
"Well, since our queen wants to personally deal with it herself, I will let it slide for now." The person shrugged casually.
"How much longer are you planning to wear that heavy disguise?" Qiao Meixia asked while glancing toward the fully-covered figure.
The person chuckled once again.
"Fine... I know our Meimei likes looking at my face." The person teased playfully before finally removing the helmet and setting it aside on the table.
