Chapter 5 - Lucky

Flame and Kashi arrived in a small village that is suited for the trading center. This is also a suitable spot for adventure before reaching the nearest capital. This place has a lot of markets and lots of crafting jobs such as blacksmith and alchemist. Adventurer favorite "break" or vacation if they preferred to call that.

Upon arrival, they had to go to the guild for a report since a lot is going on throughout this mission. They settle on the carriage as they grab their possession. "We're going to the guild." Kashi showed his note. Flame nods.

Upon arriving at the guild, this place isn't that impressive, but it suited this place for adventures. They attempted to make this place comfortable as possible.

At the reception desk, a lady greeted, "Welcome to the guild! How we may assist you?."

Kashi told them that the commission that they're exploring this dungeon that recently appears, as they told them an unknown person, killed them and unknown ancient writing, and so on. Flame just leaning on the wall waiting for them to finish.

"Ah yes, thank you, sir. I'll be requesting the guard. From now on, we forbid anyone to enter this dungeon until further notice. Please take some rest. You deserve it." She ended with a smile as she got busy with her paperwork.

Flame stood up, knowing they're finished. Kashi showed him a note, "Before you leave your weapon needs some fixing." Flame looks at the weapon as they are about to break, even though Kashi fixed and improved his weapon. This got beat up because of the bomb and the chain got heated. Kashi added, "I know just a place since I work there for an old man." Flame shrugs since he doesn't have any choice, or he'll be fighting with his fist.

As the night falls, Kashi enters a barrack filled with weapons and armor. Each of them is of high quality. Their item is so good that many of the adventures come to this place.

"Sorry the shop is closed," He grunted, busy cleaning up his helmet that is recently forged. As he ready to close this place.

"Nah it's me. Old man." Kashi got in, while Flame is just browsing on each weapon.

"I told you to stop calling me old man, it's Dale!" He rants a typical scolding until he turns around. "K-Kashi, you're back! You're gone longer than it should be. What Happened?" Then Dale scans Flame, who is just browsing. "You should know by this, no customer after dark." He folded his arm.

"What if I show you this?" Kashi puts down his backpack as he unloads his stuff. Dale rolled his eye as he continues cleaning and polishing. Then he dropped his stuff as he came closer to Kashi.

"T-This is?"

"Mhmm yes, this is mythril." His shoulder and his chest strengthen as his chin lifted. The mythril shines as if they're new. "Hehe!"

"Impossible, those are hard to find in the various dungeon. And you got one of them??" His hand shaking as he about to touch it. He got a teary eye as his heart ready to explode. Kashi then pours a pile of metals on the counter. Dale just turned white as his mouth open leaving him speechless.

"Hello?? Old man...you alright?" Kashi waves his hand into his face to get his attention.

Flame felt weirded out as they stare at them, then he shakes his head.

After a conversation between Dale and Kashi, and the situation inside the dungeon. Dale agreed to fix his weapon only if he can use mythril. Kashi then shows the note to Flame. "You're welcome to stay since we will do your weapon by tomorrow. We have an extra room upstairs."

Well, considering the rent is free, Flame doesn't have to pay at the inn for a night. So why the heck not?

Flame got into a small guest room upstairs with a decent-looking bed, window, and a small desk to hold a lamp. A lamp that has a white crystal on it to show a glowing light. He looks out of the window to see a bunch of sky islands and stars.

Suddenly Flame does a back kick, only to be blocked by a hand. This intruder wore a hooded cloak… An assassin, most likely. Flame took a step back, wondering what's the next move. He doesn't have any weapons, and he cannot use his ability because of the risk of fire. So hand to hand combat is best suited for this situation.

Then he shows his hand as if they're ready to attack, but then he shows familiar hand signs. "Whoa, whoa, it is me." Flame lowers his guard as he sighs. "Lucky. You don't need to sneak on me like that." He signs back.

Sign language is a new language in the shinobi clan because Flame is Deaf. So they invented sign language that actually helps the mission effectively. His own clan has been using it ever since.

Lucky took off his head hood. He has blue spiky hair with green eyes. Skinny also an assassin, just like Flame. "Good thing you remember my codename. You always forget." Flame rolled his eyes.

They commonly used codename in Clan to avoid unnecessary stuff. They can even change their name just to lose their tracker. Flame doesn't have a real name. When he was little, they have just given him the name 'Flame' just because the ability is fire. Fire physical abilities in this world are rare since they're dangerous. Rather, the mage uses fire effectively.

The conversation just got serious, as Lucky signs, "Did you find him?" Flame shakes his head. "Thought so. A man called himself Nightmare betrayed our clan by killing our classmate and fled. Even if he was our teacher, I can't let him go free."

Flame fist tightens as he breathes. "I'm out of the lead, might have to start over our search." Lucky nods. "Oh, and one more thing, do you know grey hair with grey eye man has the power to kill anyone instantly?."

Lucky thought for a bit... "Nope never heard of him."

"Thought so." feeling disappointed.

Lucky climb on the window. "I'll be going now, that's all for the report. Good to see you, man." He pats Flame's shoulder as he jumps off the window.

Flame lies on his bed, wondering what his next move. This situation got more difficult. Nightmare is a shinobi and our teacher. It is a lot harder to track him down. He thought to himself 'I guess I'll wait for Lucky for more news and mission. For now, my weapon comes first.'

No use in thinking overnight, so he got some rest.
