The six golems fastened their attention on the duo, and one of them released a blue light that appeared to scan their figures for the armbands.
Noah and Erolia watched the plain black armbands come alive with cyan runes and inscriptions, then die out a moment later.
Finding what they were seeking, the ground shook as the golems gave way for the two of them, then shattered into motes of white light, even as they actually returned to the special space created for them—hidden in plain sight.
Noah did not know how to feel about the experience, at least, other than being incredibly interested. He didn't know if any being could forcefully gain entrance into that city. It seemed impossible.
"Immortals overdo it," he commented, resuming his walk.
"They have been around for much longer than any of us; I think this is the bare minimum," Erolia replied, appearing unfazed. The lack of safety she once felt no longer existed.
