The announcement had generated a moment of silence, but Lord Thanses was shocked when it was broken by Vremeya's laughter. Including Noah, Lord Thanses revealed a soft frown at that reaction.
Vremeya genuinely laughed for a good while before glancing between Noah and Thanses with a thought-filled expression. She couldn't believe what she was hearing, and neither could Noah.
"Become your servant…" Noah muttered. "I can't do that… I have no intentions of being a slave to an immortal," he stated, ready to remain rigid.
"You are right," Vremeya replied, shocking the two of them. "It is madness to let an alien become one of our servants," she said.
Ignoring his hysterical sister, Lord Thanses spoke, "I understand, and I cannot force you into such an agreement… as such, I'll let you leave—"
Vremeya abruptly stood up, cutting Thanses short. She wore a dark expression as she stretched her hand towards Noah, and a burst of purple light flew out of her to crash into him.
