Chapter 61 - Daily life of Asahi Part 7: How to make a Artificial Shikigami

One week had passed~.

The announcement that Naruto, Ghost Fighter, and Dragon Ball would receive anime adaptations spread throughout Japan like wildfire.

The news immediately dominated every entertainment program.

Anime fans celebrated across the country, while countless discussions erupted online.

Which series would have the best animation?

Which studio would do the characters justice?

Which adaptation would become the next masterpiece?

The debates became so heated that they even reached the headlines.

Meanwhile...

Rentarou and Yagami had become busier than ever.

Every day was filled with production meetings, negotiations with investors, scheduling, and assembling the best staff possible. With an enormous budget approved for the three projects, neither of them intended to disappoint the fans waiting in anticipation.

Asahi, on the other hand, rarely involved himself in the business side.

Aside from occasionally checking the production progress and personally selecting voice actors for important characters, he left everything to the professionals.

His attention had already shifted elsewhere.

..

..

In the Underground Chamber;

"For the time being, I shall be your instructor."

"...Eh?"

Shizuka blinked in surprise.

"M-Me?"

Amaterasu gave a graceful nod.

"You shall learn about history in our land, the arts of an, swordsmanship, archery..."

She paused before adding with a gentle smile.

"...and how to conduct yourself as a proper lady."

"...Eh?"

Shizuka froze.

"A... proper lady?"

Her cheeks gradually turned red.

"I-Isn't this a little too sudden...?"

She nervously fidgeted with her sleeves.

"Y-You're a goddess... and you'll be teaching someone like me..."

"You need not worry, Shizuka-dono."

Amaterasu spoke calmly.

"I accepted this role of my own accord."

A faint smile appeared on her face.

"Besides..."

"I am curious to see how far your potential can reach."

Hearing those words, Shizuka's nervousness slowly faded.

She had wished to become stronger.

To stand beside Asahi.

To become someone who could support him instead of always relying on him.

Taking a deep breath, she respectfully bowed.

"I understand."

"I'll be in your care, Amaterasu-sama."

Amaterasu nodded with satisfaction.

"Very well."

"I shall teach you everything within my ability."

She looked Shizuka over from head to toe.

"Not merely how to fight..."

"...but also how to carry yourself with elegance, dignity, and grace."

Shizuka stiffened.

"I-I'll do my best!"

"Excellent...You shall call me, Senseii.."

Thus...

Her training began.

"Come to think of it..."

Shizuka suddenly ask looked toward the entrance.

"Where are Asahi-nii and Tet?"

The two who had brought her here had disappeared without her even noticing.

----

Meanwhile...

Inside the Production Room (No trespassing allowed!)

The sound of hammers echoed throughout the workshop.

Dozens of miniature Tets wearing cute PPE equipment hurried from one station to another.

Some dismantled the vehicles and ship destroyed during the battle at Mount Etna.

Others sorted reusable parts before throwing damaged metal into an enormous furnace.

Molten steel poured into molds, becoming fresh metal ingots.

Everything useful was recycled.

Two miniature Tet carried several newly forged ingots toward the central workshop.

"This is it!"

Inside the main center the two individual were discussing something in the table.

It was Asahi and Original Tet were talking.

Blueprints covered the table between them.

Tet tapped one drawing.

"...Wouldn't it be easier to build a stronger golem?"

She flipped to another page.

"Or simply make it into a giant gundam?"

Asahi shook his head.

"You don't understand."

His finger rested upon the center of the blueprint.

"If this succeeds....it won't just be another gundam."

Tet looking analyzing the plan if this theory of what Asahi proposed this will became more revolution to the omyouji and western style.

As both were talking about Asahi's proposal theory is;

[Artificial Shikigami]

What is Shikigami?

In the scroll of Shikigami art bought by Asahi from the store.

Shikigami (式神, "Ceremony God" or "Form of Divination") are spiritual familiars used by practitioners of Onmyōdō known as Onmyōji.

They are servant spirits summoned and controlled through rituals, talismans, and spiritual power to act as partners, tools, or weapons for their master.

A shikigami may take the form of a god, demon, yōkai, ghost, human, or animal spirit, and are often invisible to ordinary people unless spiritually perceived.

Depending on their purpose, shikigami can be used for protection, fortune, curses, combat, possession, or other supernatural tasks, with their strength closely tied to the spiritual power of their practitioner.

Then how was Asahi theory want to make?

[Artificial Shikigami] is the mix magic/art of Golem and Shikigami Art.

From what Asahi learned from Lucretia and Alice's magic lesson.

In the Campione world golem is a creature made of different kind of material but mostly they use mud and rock, iron, wood brought to life by a mage and animated with the use of magic.

Mostly Witch/Sorcerer use this as their weapon and guard in their home.

There were different kind of made of Golem but there were all have same principle.

They only exist to follow the orders of what program to there its creator.

Thus Asahi learned this magic he quickly use Synergist with material he got from Oldman which he able to create a first multipurpose flying golem.

[A/n: Golem appear in Chapter 48]

Thought it able to fly properly by using magic beside of its design owner but it only program was to communicate and record what is happening.

Seeing the Shikigami flying around reach in the neighborhood Asahi felt there were too troublesome and get idea it was opportunities to make something which his mind while ago.

Mixing both Golem and Shikigami magic.

"Mhmm, It looks fun, lets do it."

"Thank you, Tet. Shall we start?"

As both were starting this project.

There were three step to make this project.

Vessel

Core

Synchronization.

Thought its so simple steps its kinda hard to make.

One is to make a physical vessel which simple for Asahi.

Asahi quickly use all material available in the table was bone of the Typhoneus with mana infuse material as capable to easily flow mana.

While using shaping the material into parts and ingraving the flow and Tet trying to assemble it like she was building a lego.

She also attach some useful accessory in the vessel

Asahi begun to start the Second and the Core where the Shikigami arts is coming.

To make shikigami

In the scroll mention There are three methods by which one may obtain a familiar:

Summoning art, Enslavement art, and Creation art

Summoning art uses a ritual circle to call a spirit from another dimension. It requires a large amount of spiritual energy, so many Onmyōji use offerings or sacrifices to complete the ritual. Summoned familiars are the strongest because they already possess their own power.

Enslavement art is the act of defeating and binding an existing spirit or yokai in the supernatural into a contract. It requires less energy than Summoning, but the familiar must first be subdued.

Creation is the simplest method. By using a special ritual circle and a paper charm, an Onmyōji creates a Shikigami from their own spiritual energy and imagination. Since the familiar is made from the user's own power, it cannot become stronger than its creator and it will disappear when the energy is cut off..

For this reason, Creation type Shikigami are rarely used in battle. Instead, they are commonly used for scouting, delivering messages, detecting spiritual energy, maintaining barriers, and assisting with sealing techniques.

That why its perfect to choose a third method

After Little Tets carefully placed the vessel at the center of the magic circle, the engraved runes across its body began to glow.

Asahi slowly closed his eyes.

Within his mind...

He pictured a creature want to create.

He want a creature born from the silence of the night.

A guardian unseen.

A hunter whose wings never made a sound.

Eyes that pierced through darkness.

A watchful companion that would remain beside its master until the very end.

Mana poured endlessly from his body.

All little Tet even Amaterasu looking at the exit of the training chamber silently make barrier to not bother Shizuka's training from releasing magic pressure.

The ritual circle answered.

One layer...

Then another...

Until countless circles overlapped one another.

Ancient Onmyōdō characters floated through the air while unfamiliar magical formulas intertwined between them.

The workshop trembled.

"..."

Tet silently watched.

She had witnessed Asahi create countless inventions before.

Yet...

None of them had ever caused such an overwhelming phenomenon.

The air itself had become heavy.

As though the world was holding its breath.

The magic circle shone brighter.

Brighter.

Brighter.

Then—

BOOOOOOOOM!!

A pillar of violet light shot toward the ceiling.

The violent burst of mana forced Tet to shield her eyes.

The miniature Tets were blown across the workshop as tools and blueprints scattered everywhere.

The light swallowed everything.

...

...

Silence.

The radiance slowly faded.

Tet cautiously lowered her arm.

"...Asahi?"

No answer.

She turned toward him.

His expression...

Had frozen.

It wasn't excitement.

Nor satisfaction.

It was pure surprise.

"..."

Slowly...

Tet turned toward the center of the magic circle.

Her eyes widened.

"...What THE..."

Neither of them spoke another word.

The room fell into complete silence.

Whatever stood within the fading light...

Neither of them had expected it.
