The Evernight Ascension Stairway remained shrouded in endless darkness.
On its two-hundredth step, Ace and Eva had just received their second Evernight Providence. One had obtained a mysterious jade scroll, while the other had once again received the Providence of Luck.
Yet neither intended to stop there, and after exchanging a glance, the two turned toward the seemingly endless Stairway and raised their feet.
The next moment, Ace stepped onto the 201st stair, and Eva followed almost simultaneously.
At first, nothing seemed to have changed: the golden-black radiance that had accompanied the Evernight Providence had already disappeared, and the ancient runes beneath their feet remained as quiet as before.
No tremendous tremor, no visible phenomenon, and no immediate sign that they had crossed another important boundary.
However, the instant their feet touched the new stair, something swept through their bodies, so subtle that neither could identify it immediately.
