It feels just like yesterday. My name is Jared. I was adopted by a nice lady. My parents were poor and I had to be stripped away from them. Ms. Livy…was her name. Ms. Livy adopted me and three other boys. I meant my brother, Chuck. Me, Chuck,Aarav and Junu all were so damn close. Damn I miss it…how…how did it come to this?
Jared layed on the ground. Many dead bodies were surrounded by him. He continued to look upward and at the green smoke that was creeping towards him.
This thing…has no limits in energy. About four years ago, I was just on the game with my brothers. Now, I'm in a war I had nothing to even do with. I lay among hundreds of dead bodies from that damn woman. Why? Why us? Why is the world so cruel? Is it because I'm a person that lies for no reason? Because I'm not perfect?
Jared looked to see his right to see the body. A small hole was in the woman's head, as she was beside him lifeless. "On one…deserves this treatment…not even…bad people."
Before Jared was in his current situation, He and his three brothers were holding the line against forces they've never seen before.

"GET DOWN!!!" The commander yelled. The commander grabbed one of his soldiers by the arm and pushed him down the side of the trench. Jared held on tightly to his book. "Damn it! It's way too many of them! We're…we're dead!" A soldier cried as he looked up and let off shots from his rifle. Jared looked to his left to see his brother, Chuck. Chuck was a Caucasian man with black hair and blue eyes. A very muscular and powerful looking man. "This is pointless. We've got attacks coming from above, below and all sides. We're outnumbered!" Chuck yelled out. Chuck raised his gun and let off a few rounds before ducking back to cover.
"Stop your damn crying, Chucky!" The commander yelled. Commander Stoic. Commander Stoic was a very tall man. He wore the all black uniform with the X symbol, had curly hair, and a heavy Hispanic accent, with a beard that was well groomed. Stoic slammed the Mexico flag into the ground and said a prayer. Jared looked over the trench to see multiple massive creatures taking out their men like they were nothing. "They're getting closer, man!" Jared said as he reached for his gun. "Ready up!" Chuck yelled out. Hundreds of men got into positions and readied their guns. Behind them was a small ripped apart tower. The tower was severely damaged from the fall, but it covered hundreds of children and the elderly.
Stoic stepped up and cleared his throat. "Joto, be my translator for the Japanese men and women. Aarav, you translate for all of the Indian women and men that are here today. Jared, translate in English for all of the English men and women here today." Stoic commanded. The four quickly lined up. Jared learned Spanish from his adoptive mother. He had spent many hours on the language. Stoic opened his mouth and began to speak.
"Today," Jared began to follow what Stoic was saying. "Today, we are forced…to fight In a war non of us want. I will be honest with you all. Do I believe that we will die here today? Yes. Absolutely. Do I believe that the lives of the civilians inside of the tower that's behind us will be saved? No. Absolutely not. We…were not informed of the plan that the Akies and some of the soldiers came up with. We have reason to believe that…we are nothing more then just walking dead men. A distraction. If that is true…then I refuse to die hiding behind cover and waiting to be slaughtered. If our own people really use us as nothing more than a distraction or a piece of human trash waiting to be killed, I will die with my sword in my hand!" Stoic said, his voice beginning to rise.
"We all are one! I see no difference in anyone here! If we die today, it's not because we were trash for humanity! We die protecting our families, loved ones, and to continue on the legacy of mankind! If we lose here today, the future generations will be no more! Earth is our home! I know the people who run the system and cruel and evil! But I will fight for the future of my fellow humans!! Ready your guns! For this day…everyone will be fighting for the future of our race!" Stoic yelled as he jumped on his horse. Everyone quickly followed in. Jared looked to his right to see a woman praying and shaking in fear. Stoic opened his mouth again. Jared quickly followed up. "Hold these bastards off! For humanity!!! CHARGE!!!" Stoic yelled. Chuck,Jared,Junu and Aarav were all riding horses beside each other. The massive creature let out a roar that created a thick fog. "DO NOT STOP!!!" Stoic yelled. (We're just charging ahead. No plan or anything. It's almost like…Stoic just wants us to die?) Jared thought as he forced his horse to stop. Multiple soldiers flew past him. "This is wrong." Jared whisperers Jared looked back at the Trenches. "What the hell are you doing, Jared?!" Aarav asked. Aarav and Junu both stopped. Chuck stopped a few yards ahead and looked back while on his black horse. "Don't charge straight in. The fog…it only appears when the thing yells. We haven't even seen its whole body. Just an outline from the thick fog it creates." Jared said.
"What are you saying? The fog is some kind of trap?" Junu asked. Jared looked past the three. He could see Stoic and the men disappear into the fog. There was nothing but silence. "A damn barrier! That lanky thing traps its prey in the fog, not allowing it to leave." Jared said as he jumped off of his white horse and studied a dead soldiers body. "All these dead men." Jared sighed. Jared leaned forward and opened the soldier's mouth. Junu gave Jared a nasty look. "You've gotta be kidding me." Junu sighed .
"LOOK!! The man's throat was burnt from the inside out. It means-"
"The fog is a damn poison trap." Chuck finished. Chuck aimed his grenade launcher into the sky. "It's a barrier, right?! That means this won't kill our men?" Chuck asked.
"Correct!" Jared yelled.
"Letting her rip!" Chuck yelled, pulling the trigger. The grenade exploded on the fog. Chuck shot a few more before stopping. The fog finally cleared and the four brothers were now looking at a 8 foot tall being. It had green and gray skin, almost resembling a muddy swap-like environment. Unusually long arms that touched and dragged on the ground, long gray hair, a face that resembled a skeleton- old and rotten, a turtle shell on its back that was covered in moss, and a very skinny build. The creature roared as it picked up a soldier and bit their head off. Stoic and the soldiers fired everything that had at the creature, but the guns did nothing. The creature locked eyes with Jared. It raised its arm and pointed its long finger. A twisted smile was made as the creature winked at Jared. The creature ignored everyone else and marched towards Jared.
"Like hell you will!" Chuck Yelled, shooting the creature in the eye. "Ropes!" Stoic commanded. Five men used their horses and tossed rope around the creatures legs. "PULL!!"
The creature fell down. "Light her up!" A soldier yelled as all the men shot the creature. The shooting lasted for 20 seconds before the final bullet went into the creature. Stoic looked around to see more piles of men added to the ground. Stoic's body began to shake. He had never seen so many dead people before. The monster had easily killed over a hundred people.
"We just gonna keep guarding the building?" A soldier asked. "Stoic doesn't know what else to do." Jared whispered to his brothers. Jared turned to face the building. He noticed a shadow lingering above the building. "There-there's more than one!" Jared yelled.
