Chapter 2 - Lights

It was one of those days.

Too hot. Too bright.

I sighed and covered my eyes with my hands, shielding them from the scorching sun as I tried to look around. I saw a wide expanse of the empty football field. Students loitered around but most of them were hurrying to get under a shade.

I stood rooted to the spot trying to decide if I should go on or turn back. I sighed again. I felt sweat trickling on my forehead.

The library is at the other side of the field which means approximately ten to fifteen minutes under the sun. I looked to my sides. I see a blur of people.

With the bright sun and my eyeglasses missing, I can barely see a solid figure. I silently cursed.

'My glasses' I still don't remember where I left it.

Sighing, I started to walk and not for long I felt my shirt sticking onto my skin. I knew it was drenched with sweat.

"Watch out!"

It was a yell a little too late to heed.

I turned around and the next thing I knew, I was lying flat on my back - on the ground- very hot and hard ground.

My ears were buzzing. There were yells everywhere - but I only heard one voice.

"Are you alright?" it was him, "Hey!"

I squinted my eyes trying to get a better view but they were blurry and I'm starting to get dizzy.

It's so hot and my back hurts.

"Hey..." I muttered and everything went black.

I opened my eyes and found myself staring at the white ceiling of what I presumed to be the clinic.

How long was I out?

"What in the hell was he doing in the middle of the field?"

I heard his voice again. It was full of annoyance. I sighed. He's angry.

I turned my head to his voice's direction and found him leaning on the wall by the door. He was talking to someone who was outside and hidden from my view.

"Don't be harsh." it was another male voice. "He was probably trying to cut through the field so he can get to the other side faster. You know them university students do that all the time."

"That's stupid. Didn't he see us playing there?" He snapped and turned his head towards the bed's direction.

Our eyes locked. His brows crossed and his lips thinned.

"Call the nurse." he said to the other person and closed the door. I heard the lock click.

He walked towards me. I see he was still wearing his football uniform. Ah, he had club activities. Was it Friday? I guess so.

"Lucas" I started trying to get up from bed.

"Shut up."

And I did as his lips came down on mine.

His hands felt hot on my thighs and it was getting hotter as he invaded my mouth.

Closing my eyes, I responded to his kiss.

It felt – hungry.

And punishing.

Ahh. He is still angry.

I bit his lips.

He pulled back surprised. I smirked.

Scowling he turned away and left, slamming the door on his way out.
