"I hate how dark it is in here. I should have one of the workers install lanterns here." Clancy spoke, breaking the silence. Hella found her current disposition amusing. Clancy was battling her fears by participating and by walking with her in this very dark place. It was cold, dank, and the far off dripping noises echoed softly around them. It was the only thing they could hear aside from the soft pitter patter of their sandaled feet.
"I know you are concerned for your salvation, Clancy." Hella never was good at being subtle.
Subtlety was not something she ever needed. She was a succubus. Her entire system was wired to seduce and feast on the aura of others.
Clancy stopped walking, turned around and looked directly at Hella. "My salvation has always been gone. I am an orphan. The church says I will automatically go to heaven because of my parents misfortune." Clancy smiled wryly.
