Beatrice could not bear to depart with her child. It was like a dream made real for her. Here they were together at last. There had been so many dreams about this moment and none of them came close to the emotion she was feeling. It was an overwhelming sense of peace. Beatrice was at peace, and suddenly everything she had ever worried, or cared about, seemed inconsequential to this moment. She had both the ladies follow her to her chambers. Clancy and Hella left her to bask n her happiness.
The two women walked along the corridor. Clancy made sure to nod at the head guard as she walked past. Both women waited until they were away from anyone to speak.
Clancy spoke first. Hella noticed her features had softened. Was she warming up to her? Hella thought that would be a good change. "Thank you." She pulled Hella to her and hugged her tightly.
