Chapter 19 - XIII. Colors.

Yawn.

This morning, Selene started stretching as she was looking far. She halted with 'there's no point of doing this' look.

"Really? do I have to stretch like this every morning I woke up?"

and started to scratch her head.

Selene alone was heading into the market where she helps people in order to earn heros for her living. Methedeces visits her every 5th day once in a week which Methedeces considers it as his day-off.

She started walking. Nearby, there are soldiers scattered around looking for something. Selene approached one of the soldier near her and asked.

"Why is this so sudden? is the market under investigation?"

The soldier noticed her presence and looks at her.

"No. It's our duty to check if the market is free from danger"

; Replied.

"I see. I should get go working then.."

Someone, not far from the market started yelling Selene's name with an old-man voice.

"Selene!!"

"Selene!"

"Selene!!"

Selene paused.

She looks around looking for the voice she heard from the market.

"Over here!!"

She started looking around west. A small old-man was calling for her. She quickly approached the man.

"Sir?"

"Oh haha, it took me long enough to call you, I guess I can't handle yelling loudly right at this stage"

; chuckles.

Selene started putting her hands at her pocket and replied.

"Guess so. Need a hand?"

"Right. I can't carry those boxes alone, I can't ask the soldier to do it either, and since you're here, can you help me?"

; Pointed at the load of medium boxes.

"Sure. But--"

"Don't worry! I'll pay you ten!"

"Mmkay"

The load of medium boxes are placed near another stall. Selene picked up 3-4 boxes and carry it, putting at the front of the old-man' s stall. It took only 30 seconds for her to finish. Dusted off her clothes and stood at the front of the old-man's stall.

"Do you want me to open these for you?"

"No, dear. Thank you for the help, here's your heros"

"No problem"

The old-man gave her the heros and Selene turned back. An old-grumpy woman was very shocked. She was the owner near stall where Selene picked up the boxes. The old-grumpy woman started screaming over and over. Soon, one of the soldier from division C approached her annoying notice.

"Ma'am?"

"Who took my boxes!!!"

Selene paused while arranging the apples from a different stall. She looked at the woman who was screaming, which she is now crying.

"I just ordered those baked pies 'cause I earned alot yesterday, sniffs, how can this be? I only payed the one who delivered it and after a seconds I was gone, the boxes were too!!"

"Is that true? I haven't seen those boxes here just yet.."

In Selene's mind, "what?"

She looked at the stall where the boxes were gathered. There was no stall at that place at all.

"Ma'am can I leave this for a moment? I swear to come back and finish this after"

"haha sure dear"

Selene proceeds walking towards the woman and the soldier, as she asked.

"Medium boxes?"

"Y-yes, sniffs."

"A load of 20 medium boxes were yours?"

"Excuse me, but you have no business here"

"I believe I can ask, can I?"

"You can't solve any problem here--"

"Wait. Selene how did you know it was 20 medium boxes?"

; Old-grumpy woman asked.

"I-uh, I happened to saw it"

"See? it's true that I have them here!!!, those thieves when they'll be tired!!"

; crying.

"Is there--, was there a stall placed right here?"

"No, there wasn't"

; sobs.

"There wasn't!? I swear there was"

"There was no stall there, the owner of that stall died a year ago. Sniffs, he was from Millwalls, sniffs."

"Then? no new owner?"

"No. Dear, if you still dared to ask me about that, you could ask me privately but right now I have to deal with my business"

"We'll be the one to take care here"

; said the solider.

A young lady came near and said,

"Sorry to eves drop, but I saw Selene carrying 3 boxes. I don't know if some saw it, but I did"

"Selene???, sniffs"

"No-I.."

"You're a witness?"

; Asked the solider.

"I know how hard working you are Selene, but at this rate, you weren't even saying that you touched those boxes"

"I'm going--no, wait. What I mean is that, the old man here /pointed at the empty stall/ asked my help to carry those boxes and place it here at the front!"

"I don't know where she hides it, but I really saw her"

"You don't have any evidence to prove anything"

"I can smell you. You smelled like new box"

"Geez?"

Hearing that, the old-grumpy woman briefly walked towards Selene and smelled her, upon her scent,

"She does smells like new boxes!!"

"What? those boxes were new but some are covered plenty of dust?"

"Selene how dare you"

The issue brought upon all the market sellers, looking at Selene seemingly shocked.

"Stop accusing me because I smell that way nor I knew those boxes were covered with damn dusts, there was a man here called for my help and--"

The soldiers tried to hold Selene's arms and grabbing her out the market, she was resisting but wasn't saying any words.

"Oi. Stop now, where are you taking me?"

"Kid--"

"Don't address me as a kid, please."

"As you requested. We're taking you at the head quarters to let you explain yourself"

Selene's thought about something in her mind:

"This is a bit odd, why'd they pull me out so sudden without bringing the victim and the witness?"

Selene stopped walking. The soldiers tried to grab her again heading for the carriage that will lead the at their destination.

" What is this really about?"

; Glared at one of the soldier whose holding her.

"If I were to interrogate, shouldn't the witness and the victim accompanies? if I'll be ask alone for this, then I do not accept"

"You have no rights to give us orders. You committed a crime"

"Don't talk like I did committed a crime, tell me when we're going"

; resisting.

The soldier, seeing her resist after she talked, smirked.

"Tsk"

Two of the soldiers tightened the way they hold Selene's arms wherein they stopped to wait for the horse called.

"Why am I the only one to be asked?!"

"Keep your voice down young lady"

; Chuckles.
