Chapter 25 - Cindy

I knew Phoenix was curious, that's why I let him come with me. We made it to the river very easily. Turns out not only can he turn into the animals he knows but also his senses become enhanced like the animal.

I got off of Phoenix and sat at the river base. I poked at the rock in the muddy ground.

Phoenix: 'What are we here for?'

"You may want to sit comfortably," I warned, "it's a long story."

Phoenix: 'Okay.' He laid down and I could see his eyes looking at me. I started by telling him about what he already knew. The powers and each one of ours. Then I told him about what happened when I went to bed. His first question wasn't what I was expecting.

Phoenix: 'So you're saying there's going to be more of us soon?'

"More supernatural's probably. More of what we can do? Not likely." I answered back. Just then I heard Madison scream.

Madison: 'HE'S COMING! What did you do?'

"How did he hear me explain it," I asked Phoenix.

Phoenix: 'I'll protect you.' He stood up then and took a stance.

He stood beside me and somewhat in front of me. I realized he had changed animals and was now a horse. He was taller than me and had hooves.

"Phoenix you're a horse." I spoke.

He neighed.

Phoenix: 'Cool. I guess you were right.'

"When was I ever wrong," I stated with a sly smile.

Antonio:'I hate following Madison and our teacher. He's no good or fun.'

Darien: 'Where are you little Cindy?'

Madison: 'Oh god it's a huge horse.'

Phoenix: 'I'm surprised I'm not that big. I'm small for a horse.'

"Your kind of horse," I whispered with a giggle.

Darien: 'Cindy Gray, I hear you.'

My eyes closed without a warning. Something's wrong.

I let my body ease up a little as it all flows like a rush.

Two more people. Only two now. Lost in our woods. I need help.

"If you can hear or see us. Help, we are lost and want to find our teacher." One cried.

"We are hungry and scared," said another.

They looked about lost and soon they collapsed. Beth never said it would be this soon. Only that I'd be soon. Oh my!

"Please. Anyone if you can see us the bird sent us. There are four of you and we'd like to help you. Please. Mine is healing and the other time." The one rushed. "We couldn't control it and were scared."

I remembered the girl and boy's faces.

"Please help us," said the first. The girl.

"Please," begged the second. The boy.

"I will," I whispered, "promise."

They cuddled by a tree, it seemed to be like the ones in our area. The jackets were torn but I didn't see any bruises or cuts. They were cold and lost, and I was going to make it my mission to find them. Their lives were in my hands now.
