At this very moment, the silhouette noticed that there was someone behind her and transformed into a fearsome six-armed hairy creature. Thomas couldn't believe his eyes and his body was covered in cold sweat. The creature rushed at him. He then began to run but his legs collided against the balcony's railing, causing him to trip forward and fall. His fall was cushioned by the tree he had climbed to get to the balcony. He got on the grass in the blink of an eye.
Thomas felt severe pain in his back but tried to crawl anyway. When he turned his head to look behind him, he saw that the creature had already come down from the balcony and was striding towards him. He felt so dizzy that he stopped moving. The creature continued to approach him. Then, the moment it raised one of its arms to deliver the coup de grace, Thomas heard a voice cry out, "Mum, this is my friend, don't hurt him!" He recognized Amanda's voice then passed out.
When he opened his eyes again, he found himself lying in a bed. He heard a person scream, "Finally he regains consciousness!" He looked around and saw that he was in a hospital room. The nurse, who had just performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation on Thomas, hastily removed her palms from Thomas' breastbone's site. He also saw that his mother was standing next to him, more precisely on his left.
"Mum?"
"My God, Thomas! How do you feel?"
"A little exhausted."
"What happened?"
"I thought I saw a ... a wild beast."
"Frankly, a wild beast? Have you and the girl been doing drugs?"
"No, are you talking about Amanda? Where is she?"
"She is outside with her mother."
"Oh!"
Thomas did not continue the conversation. He knew very well that even if he told his mother what just happened, she would never believe him. One thing was certain. Amanda and her family had turned out to be real mysteries.
The end.
