Chapter 6 - ❗️6

"Holy.. shit" Jun panted.

The two looked at each other with wide eyes, examining what they now looked like.

Jun's eyes were the same as hers but his irises were purple.

He also had similar veins and sharp teeth, however his horns were slightly larger and he had white and violet scales on some parts of his body.

"You look like your dragon.." Azrael breathed out.

"So do you" replied her best friend.

"What the-" Juro exclaimed, making the two look at him, "I-I... is my hair.. on fire?"

Jun snickered at his brother.

Juro had medium sized feathery red wings attacked to his back, and some feathers even grew on his neck.

The sight that caught the two's attention however, was that the wings were emitting fire and the feathers were made of flames.

"I mean.. it's not your hair" Jun stifled a laugh, "the best way to describe it is... you look like a flaming chicken"

His brother rolled his eyes.

"I feel so unstable right now" Azrael gulped, "do you guys.. really still want to battle?"

"Yeah" the two answered without hesitation.

The girl looked towards her father, "this isn't a good idea, is it?"

Asmodeus shrugged.

She was fond of what could ensue when she created chaos, yet she did not want to cause such destruction to the palace, or to the beloved people that called it home.

'Not again..' she solemnly thought as she remembered the lifeless human bodies of her best friends.

'I just need to control myself. I can do that this time.'

Azrael clenched her fist and narrowed her eyes, she cursed herself internally for agreeing to this.

"fine, let's get this over with" she said in a thick tone.

Before anyone could do so as take a breath, the demoness dropped into her shadow at an extreme speed—faster than their eyes could see.

In less than a second, she came out from behind Jun, her fist beaming with black flames as she threw it forward.

From the flames, a larger fist with claws for nails formed—as soon as it touched his back he was thrown a few meters forward from the impact.

Getting up, Jun's purple flames ignited his body in an instant, the fire's size being double the amount than it was previously.

'So I guess he's pretty mad, huh' thought Azrael as the fire around her fist ceased.

"What's wrong?" she leaned forward and winked cockily, "dragon caught your tongue?"

Asmodeus, Beelzebub and Basileus had already distanced themselves from the three, Azrael guessing that they remembered the tempers each of them had.

No one could anger each other better than the three young demons themselves—and unfortunately, one button had just been pushed.

Azrael's actions seemed to infuriate Jun, the boy raised his hand as

thunder filled the palace, dark clouds began to form at the ceiling.

His brother, who had been quietly observing, widened his eyes at the sight, "oh no"

"Aw, looks like he really is mad" Azrael snickered to herself.

'This was their idea, not mine'

Jun lowered his eyes, glowering at the two intensely.

"See if you can take the force of a three-headed hydra, you dipshits" he growled and yanked his hand downwards—falling from the storm at a persistent rate was a multitude of ice blades.

Azrael gasped as they began impaling the ground beneath her left and right with impeccable timing.

'Guess I wasn't the only one who got faster..'

"But, he really didn't think this through" she mumbled to herself.

'This technically isn't cheating so..'

She smirked and let herself fall backwards into her shadow, giggles began echoing loudly in the hall.

"AZRAEL!" Jun yelled, "GET BACK HERE!"

The demoness chuckled once more, watching from Juro's shadow.

Contrary to his previous remark, he in fact wasn't alarmed, he had only ignited his flame—'there's blue in his flames now.. his fire is going to melt the palace if it gets any larger', Azrael observed.

Juro started walking under the rain of blades, his fires burning each one that tried to impale him.

They evaporated into mist instantly.

As he kept walking, the blades that were lodged into the ground had also begun evaporating.

"Well I was going to wait until one of you won" he announced, "but I guess I won't pull an Azrael and hide"

"Oh shut up Juro, you stood by and watched like a pussy for five minutes" she riposted from the darkness.

"And what're you doing right now?"

"You two seemed like you wanted to fight each other more so I'm just giving you the initiative"

"Hypocrite"

"Shut up and fight already, the testosterone is making me vomit"

Juro flew up and flapped his wings—his fiery feathers launched themselves straight at Jun.

Just as they were about to hit him, he created a ring of purple flames causing the attack to completely evade him.

The feathers entered through the rift just as another ring sparked behind Juro—his own attack was projected at him.

Having fast reflexes the demon flew higher, an explosion occurring below him.

"Fine" Jun sneered from the ground.

The boy clenched his fists tightly, his flames turning into frost as he trudged forward.

The temperature in the area around him started dropping fast, ice had begun forming on the walls and floor.

Azrael watched with shock as her best friend took a step off the ground—only for him to jump high up and land mid-air on the solidified frost forming beneath his feet.

'J-Jun.. froze the air!?'

Each time he took a step, frost would create under him, allowing him to move freely above the palace floor.

"Are you serious" Juro exasperatedly sighed.

"Don't dish out a plate if you can't take the heat" his brother replied as he formed an ice katana in his right hand.

He jumped high and headed for Juro.

"Ironic" Azrael muttered, "buuut.. it's no fun if I'm just watching.."

She thought about her attack from earlier and giggled mischievously at her sudden curiosity, 'if I can do that.. then I can do this?'

She remerged from her fathers shadow and smirked, "sorry in advance" she whispered as she thrusted her arms up, two wrists that formed from the darkness of the room had bursted from the ground.

Even as both boys halted their attacks, they didn't have time to process the shadow wrists grabbing each of them and pulling them hard to the ground.

The impact had slammed both of them so fiercely into the floor that the area they landed in was indented.

"Hm… not sorry" she hummed as she looked at Asmodeus, "but I am sorry that I cracked your beautiful marbled floor dad"

Suddenly, Azrael's eyes flashed, she sensed an ice shard and a flame ball being projected at her, which she (and everyone else) of course dodged by getting out of the way.

"Hey!" She yelled as she jumped out from Juro's shadow, "that was mean"

The two boys had gotten up already, both with dark expressions across their faces.

"Don't tell me you guys are genuinely pissed" she rolled her eyes, "who decided this again?"

Jun formed a large sword in his hand, "don't think an attack like that is going to stop me"

His flames had reignited.

Juro had stayed silent, but if the look in his eyes didn't say it, it was the visible black light that Azrael saw around his entire body that told her he was mad.

Malice had overtaken him for a moment.

The sight had caused rage to boil in her blood—her nerves had been trampled on.

"YOU BOTH ARE SUCH FUCKING IDIOTS" Azrael spat, distortion seeping into her tone; her demonic voice had emerged.

"ALRIGHT" she said as her fire exploded from her, "THEN GET BEAT INTO THE DARKNESS!"

All three of them jumped simultaneously into the air, their attacks about to fire when the clear sound of someone snapping their fingers intervened.

It was almost as if a switch was flipped—their rage and fury had disappeared.

Afterwards their flames and current forms reverted involuntarily, and so they fell back onto the floor with a loud thud.
