I slowly open my eyes to see the dark, star filled sky. The sun was in the distance, making this dark world a little brighter. As usual, I sat up and looked around at the dark grass and trees. You can't even tell if they're green. Even when the sun is out, it only provides a little light. The skies are still out, and the ground is still dark. I stood up and stretched my body out. It's vital, since I'll be doing a lot today. I walked through the forest, and in the distance, I saw bright lights. As I walked closer, the mansion finally came to view. It was very tall, and very big. There are four entrances on each side, one section for each god. The mansion itself is made of sturdy wood that's a dark maroon color, and it looks more like an apartment building. Otherwise, it's actually quite cozy once you even get near the place. The orange lanterns floating around make me feel warm.
As usual, I went to the south side of the mansion to check in and... "greet" the one who bought and brought me to this place. I opened the door and walked upstairs. The rooms in this section are all empty with no people at all, so it's always easy for me when I'm cleaning. After a while, I reached the top. Unfortunately, the south side is the only side that doesn't have an elevator due to the god that lives here, and the lack of tenants. I opened the door to the top, and I saw my master. He has short red hair and his bright yellow eyes gazed into mine. He's always naked or in a robe because clothes are uncomfortable to him. I hate saying his name, even in my own head.
Despite that, he's handsome as hell. "Edric... you're late. Did you get enough sleep last night?" It's always scary when I talk to him because he's the only one who puts on a fake smile when he talks to me. He absolutely hates my guts for what I did to him when we were on my planet. "Yes, I did get enough sleep. I'm ready for work." Despite his hate for me, he's actually a really nice guy. I'm starting to regret being so rude to him before. "Good. Do your morning chores first, and then come back to me. I have a job for you." I nod, and I was teleported outside. I have no idea why he has no followers or no elevator on his side, but it's not beneficial to me at all.
Speaking of which, none of this is actually beneficial to me. I'm here because my master is teaching me a lesson. I wiped the sweat off of my forehead and walked to the east side of the mansion to do my first job. I opened the door, and I was immediately greeted by the strong stench of sex and lust. No humans, or human worshippers ever live in this mansion. It's mostly monsters or even other entities like demons. Actually, there are only two humans living here. The goddess of this part of the mansion, and her mortal husband. Well, three if you count me. I walked to the elevator, but I was stopped by a nearly naked vampire. She said, "It's my turn to see Her. Step off."
A male angel came from behind me and said, "Do we have a problem?" The vampire quickly scampered away, and I said, "You don't see an angel here every day. What's the occasion?" The angel said, "I'm just looking for some fun, you know?" I glared at him, knowing full well that he was lying. "They'll kill you if they find out the real reason." The angel just smiled, and walked away. I got on the elevator, and pressed a button to go to the top floor. A few minutes later, the elevator stopped and I opened the goddess door on the top floor. Funnily enough, this is the only room that doesn't smell like sex in this entire entire side of the building.
The goddess looked at me, and it felt like my heart would jump out of my chest because of her beauty. Her name is Wish, and she had long, bright orange hair with red highlights and gorgeous blue eyes. She always wears a tank top with shorts, and she's always with her boyfriend who owns an entire mob in his world. "Goodness, it's Edric... you scared me." I bowed and she said, "The used and broken toys are in the usual spot. Go toss em'." I walked over to a corner of her room, and saw a small pile of sex toys. The pile used to be a lot bigger when I first got here, but now it's maintained by me every day. I pressed a button, and a large hole in the wall opened. I began throwing the toys outside of the room, and they floated away into space.
When I throw anything, it always leaves orbit and goes towards the sun. It's quite convenient actually. I pressed the button again, and the hatch closed. Wish said, "Thanks. You can leave now." Her boyfriend got her attention and showed her something on his phone that made her laugh hysterically. I frowned at the thought that I was serving a god that isn't even a full god. She was half god and half human. I walked out of the room, and went back down via elevator. I walked out, and instead of walking to the west side, I walked towards the ocean. My next chore was to snap a god out of meditation in the ocean.
I jumped into the ocean and dove down. Unfortunately, this ocean is very deep, so I had to learn to hold my breath for an extended time. But it's not like I have to go to the bottom. He senses my presence and goes on land by himself. When I got close enough, a merman swam up to me with tired eyes. He grabbed my shirt and dragged me up to the surface. This was Poth. He's also a demigod, being half god and half mermaid. He has long blue hair and deep red eyes that anyone could fall for. Like the rest of his family, he's very good looking. He got the rest of his body on land, and his fin transformed into legs. He glanced at me and said, "You smell strange. Like an angel. Is there one here?"
"Not that I know of..." He nodded and walked off towards the building. I facepalmed and murmured, "I'm such a fool..." I shook my head, and walked to the north side of the mansion. More people live on this side more than the others because they love the god on this side. Not only because of his beauty, but because of his powers and the fact that he's a yokai. Humans are also sometimes here through "spirit", but they don't actually live on this planet like the others. I sighed as I walked through the corridor as angry glances burned into my skin. They were all jealous of me because I was able to see the god they worshipped so dearly. I got into the elevator, and pressed the only button on the pad. The button to the top floor. It went up as I heard the followers' groans of anger slowly disappear. The elevator stopped, and the doors slid open, revealing a long hall with only one door at the end of it. I walked to the room where the god resided, and I had to shut my eyes or I'll explode.
His hair is long and snow white and his eyes are red like freshly shed blood. His slitted pupils and soft, yet intimidating gaze enhance the effect of his eyes. He has white cat ears on the top of his head, and a white tail that slowly swayed behind him. Of course, he had no clothes to cover his perfect body that anyone would want for themselves. He has an unusual name that no one ever questions simply because they won't get an answer. This god's name is Kill, and he's a god of death. I slowly opened my eyes, and he said, "Good morning, Edric." His voice was both angelic and sad. The fact that he even said anything to me meant that he was in a decent mood today.
I grabbed his golden brush that laid on a red silk pillow, and sat behind him. I began brushing his hair, and he sighed softly. I do this every day because he doesn't do it himself due to depression. He yawned and his ears flicked as I brushed near them. "Are my children giving you a hard time?" His sudden question surprised me. I said, "Yeah... they are." It still baffles me that this man is the father to these three mini gods. "I see. Then again, it is part of your punishment." "Don't remind me, please. I'm begging you." He went silent. I eventually finished brushing his hair, and placed the brush back on the silk pillow.
I stood up, and he suddenly said, "You're going to die tomorrow. There's someone you shouldn't talk to today." I gazed down at him with fear stricken eyes. He glanced up at me with his unchanging expression, and said, "He's among us in this building. Don't speak with him. He will kill you and every other mortal here." I swallowed a large glob of saliva, and slowly nodded. He looked away, and I quickly scampered back to the elevator. I immediately had an idea of who it was, but I wasn't sure. Either way, he shouldn't be here. I walked back to the elevator and pressed the button to open the door, but it wouldn't open. Instead, the elevator was going down. I waited patiently, as I watched the numbers stop at one, and eventually start going back up.
I suddenly felt dread as the numbers slowly went up. It felt like my heart was going to pound right out of my chest. Soon, the numbers stopped at 15. The elevator doors slowly opened, and the tall angel from before stood right in front of me. He gently smiled and said, "Hey... this is Kill's floor, right?" I couldn't bring myself to answer. He sighed softly, and patted my shoulder as he walked past me. I took a deep breath, as I wasn't breathing the entire time. I quickly walked into the elevator, and quickly pressed the button on the pad. The doors closed, and I sat down on the floor of the elevator, breathing heavily.
Something was wrong. I could feel it.
