It's been a long few weeks since I have arrived. Hope and I spend a lot of time together. As for Uri, he tries and I enjoy his attempts. Hope has been teaching me different art techniques. Uri has been teaching me how to cook and bake. I have a in home teacher. So I don't get to see the outside world very often. I think the last time I went out was a week after I got here. I didn't even get to leave the gate. It was only to grab the clothes I ordered online. Which I got into trouble for. We cannot keep you safe if you go outside. So now I just spend a lot of time looking for things to do. Don't get me wrong I love everything they have here. Who wouldn't? With jacuzzi, sauna, pool, fitness room, small basketball court with connections in the center for volleyball, soccer net in the corner, a completely virtual game room, game rooms, pool table, ping pong table, and that's only the beginning and best parts. There is so much to do here it is not even funny. I have walked the grounds so many times on both the first and second floor. I am but allowed on the third, forth or the basement floor. I am assuming the basement because it leads outside. As for the other two I think it's where they work. They have said one day I will join them up there. I am so not patient. I really want to know what it is they have hiding up there. Today I'm pretty much on my own for the morning and early afternoon. It's Saturday morning and like usual they are upstairs on the off limits floors. I think I'm making myself a really big breakfast today. I will start with the bacon and then I'm not sure. Ooh in know... Bacon, links, patty, eggs, toast and french vanilla with cinnamon coffee. Maybe I can add a few fruits to it as well. How about I grab and slice down, a banana, three strawberries, two slices watermelons, two slices cantaloupe, a handful of grapes, and um maybe cool whip and melted chocolate. Just the sound of my breakfast spread is making me feel like I'm starving. I can't wait to sink my teeth in. I'm heading over to the kitchen and noticed for the first time ever. There was some food already made and a note beneath it. I picked up the note and a key fell out of it but the smell of the food seemed more important. It was a pretty big spread. Almost exactly like the one I was going to make this morning only they added a cinnamon roll. Everything was still nice and hot as it was on the built in warmer. Once I completed my meal and felt a million times better I picked up the note. Once you've eaten your food please freshen up, change into a pants and short sleeve shirt, put your hair up into a bun or ponytail. Then please head over to the elevator and using the key go to the third floor. We will be there waiting for you. As excited and curious as I am. I got up quickly, grabbed the key off the counter. Put my dishes in the sink and rinsed them off. Placed all the dishes into the dishwasher and headed to my room. I did my morning routing as fast as possible. Then practically ran to the elevator. I got in and used the key to go to level three. My heart was racing in a good way. When the door finally opened and I walked out I saw bunches of doors. All of them had finger print, key card access. Which means the key I had would do me no good. I can't get into any of these rooms. As I walked passed a few I noticed they all have similar markings from my parents laboratory. Only there isn't much in here. So I kept following the path until I saw them both sitting there. I knocked at the door and Uri smiled at me as Hope motioned for me to enter. Before I could say anything Uri put up his finger so I stopped mid step and waited. It was a short pause then he said goodbye to who ever he was talking to and put the phone down. Then they both said welcome in unison and we all laughed. They tend to do that a lot. So I asked what this place was for and that's when Hope pulled out a chair and Uri said please have a seat. They are so in sync with each other out can be very scary. Like they are two parts of a whole. When I sat down they said this is our offices. Where we work on different things. Experiment with different types of things. We also have a medical wing for animals up here. So honestly when he said experiment. My mind went straight to vampires and werewolves. I know they aren't actually real but still it would be pretty cool. Hope was standing behind me and tapped my shoulder. She began to walk away but stopped at the door and said well come on then follow me. So I stood up and followed behind her very quickly. She led me to the first door I walked past. Once she opened it I saw this poor hawk with his wing bandaged to his body. His eyes were bloodshot and he was missing a part of his claw. He was not very aggressive. In fact he wobbled towards Hope a bit ass if he was excited to see her. She handed me something and told me to hold it out to him. I followed as directed and he slowly came to me and ate it right out of my hand. I stood there frozen. I mean seriously he could've eaten my fingers. She pressed a few buttons on the wall and out popped more food and water into his bowl. She showed me what to press and showed me their charts. Taught me how to read them so I would know what to press and what time to press them. After she shadowed me through a few doors she let me take the lead. Once she knew I had it under control she stayed to walk away. So I said wait, what if one of them attack me? She said the ones that you needed to worry about like you. It's why I stayed with you to make sure they didn't feel threatened. I will be in the office making sure to unlock the doors as you go. Uri has to head over to the next floor. I nodded and continued along the way. There were all types of animals. Some more damaged than others but very friendly all the same. I got to feed, pet, groom and meet all kinds of animals. I had completely finished thirty two rooms when I reached a door I couldn't get into. At first I thought maybe it was broken or jammed. So I walked over to the next door and then the next but all of these were locked. I walked back towards the office and Uri came out of nowhere and said you can't go into those rooms. Only myself and hope can enter those. Not because of any other reason aside from it's dangerous. Then he followed me into the office. He showed me the monitor where it has a live feed showing. Hope was now sitting behind the desk. Uri disappeared and showed up in front of the first door. Hope pressed a button and out shot some type of dart. He stood there a few minutes then opened the door. It was a baby alligator. Its tail was cut sideways and crooked. It was fast asleep as he entered the room and tried to move it around to make sure it was truly asleep. He pulled out this little container and stuck his hand into. Then rubbed the baby gators tail with whatever it was. Then he opened it's mouth and started to clean it's teeth. Then he was I think grooming it a little. Cleaning off the blood and dirt. Hope broke my concentration and said these are the more damaged and dangerous animals. Only Uri can work with these ones. We were looking at each other and forgot to pay attention for a moment. Then the baby gator moved it's tail. She slammed her hand on a button and Uri jumped back and left the room. The door automatically shut behind him and locked in place. So I said, The gator was probably just dreaming I think. Hope said here watch this. Uri opened the door back up again and the gator got really still. One eye lid moved a little as the door started to open. Once it was opened enough he put his long thin stick in the room. She jumped up and tried to bite it. He quickly closed the door and then Hope looked at me. They are very smart animals, very tricky as well. You need to be very diligent when working with them. The small details that can determine whether or not you'll survive. She pressed another button and then before I could see we switched rooms. By the time we made it back to baby gator. It was completely full and looked content. I'm assuming when she ordered the button it was to feed it. Uri was gone again. He had to go back to the fourth floor. Hope gave me a lanyard with three keys and a card connected to it. She walked me over to a machine and took my fingerprint. Then made me sign a few papers and was putting information into the computer. Once I was done signing everything she began talking to me. Your keys will only work after class time and on weekends. You cannot enter the more dangerous areas as you have limited access. Now please follow me. It's almost lunch time and we need to get Uri. If we don't get him he will never leave. First we headed to the fourth floor. We both walked around. There was a bunch of electronics. Some looked broken and others looked unfinished. There was a few working robots there as well. A bunch of blue print designs. He was nowhere to be found. Hope ushered us back into the elevator and we headed to the basement. It was pretty cool in there as well. It looked a lot like my parents laboratory. From the etchings and the symbols all the way to the Glass windows. Test tubes everywhere and different types of plants surrounded us. Uri saw us and walked over to us. Took off his goggles and coat. Placed his gloves in the coat pocket and removed his hair and foot net covering and threw those away. Then we all headed back to the elevator and ended up on the main floor. Once the door opened up a strong but delicious smell filled the air. We all went into our rooms and washed up and met back together in the dining room. Not long after the table was set my social worker showed up on the front gate camera. The butler walked over to let her in. I looked at them and asked why are you sending me away? Haven't I been good? I've followed the rules, been respectful and always do as I'm asked. So why would you send me away? Aren't I good enough? I ran to my room before they could respond. I just don't think I could handle hearing anything they would have to say. I grabbed my suitcase and opened it up. I was so hurt that I couldn't help but cry. My heart felt heavy and my head was spinning. I got up and walked over to my closet. I barely made it completely in my door when I slowly fell to the ground. I wrapped my arms around my body and cried. A few minutes later I heard I knock at my door. My social worker came in and I guess she saw me. She walked over to me and asked what was wrong with me. So I told her I'll be fine I just need to finish packing. She just looked at me for a long moment then wiped the tears from my eyes. Lightly smiling at me then she asked me why I was crying and packing. Then asked if something happened that made me want to leave. So I looked at her and said isn't that why your here? To take me away from them? She shook her head no and helped me up on my feet. Confused as I was, I began to calm down. Hope came in just as I sat down on my bed. A girl about five years old followed quickly behind her. She looked up at me and introduced herself. She was as cute as a button. My social worker said that the little girl would be staying with us for a while. I took it all in and let out a breath I had no idea I was holding in. I looked over at Hope and Uri but before I could say anything. They were already next to me hugging me. Shhhh is all that I heard from Hope and Uri at the same time. When they let me go I was crying all over again. Only this time I was feeling very happy. I knew they wouldn't let me go. It was at this precise moment I knew this could be my forever home and my forever family. Not that I've forgotten my real family. I still miss them like crazy and I will continue to use every resource available to look for them. I'm just happy that I found somewhere I'm truly welcome and happy.
