"Mommy, why do you want the uncle to leave?" Mianmian came over, tugging at her fingers, and whispered, "Didn't you say that if a handsome man agrees to come home with us and lets me put Peppa Pig stickers on him, we can consider letting him be my dad... hmm..."
Suddenly, Mianmian, whose mouth was covered by Shi Su, looked at the man on the bed with a distress-signal-like expression: "Hmm hmm... uncle... hmm..."
Shi Su gritted her teeth and forcefully took Mianmian to the next room: "If you dare to say anything more, all your chocolate next month will be confiscated!"
Mianmian immediately shut her little mouth, but she was still aggrieved and spoke softly, "Mommy, uncle is seriously injured, so pitiful, don't make him leave..."
"Shut up, face the wall for thirty minutes!" Shi Su said, then directly closed the room door.
Turning back to the master bedroom to clarify things with the man and determined to ask him to leave, she took a step in, only to immediately turn her back: "Why are you getting out of bed?"
Jing Jihan stood by the bed, glanced at the loose black shorts on his legs, which reached above his knees, and then looked at the places where blood had oozed out beneath several dressings due to his attempt to stand.
"I was just hoping you could see this through to the end, but since my request is such a burden for you, it's unnecessary; I can leave."
Shi Su heard his weak voice. She certainly knew how severely injured he was. Being able to endure the pain and get out of bed in this situation, did this man not know pain?
After all, she had helped bathe him a few times these two days. She had seen him lying on the bed with his upper body bare; now that he was awake, what was there that she couldn't see?
Shi Su turned around and saw the man take two difficult steps forward, but it seemed like he might collapse at any moment.
In the instant when the man's tall and straight figure swayed slightly, she instinctively hurried over to support him. Who would have thought that the man, who was nearly 1.9 meters tall, would directly press down on her heavily as he fell, causing her to stagger backward and almost fall.
Shi Su used all her strength to hold him up and pushed the man, who had almost all his weight on her, towards the bed. Just as she was about to help him sit, he fell directly.
"Hey, you..."
Shi Su's hand paused, seeing his eyes closed. Could he have passed out again?
She looked again at the dressings on the man that were stained with blood because the wound was pulled, and, feeling both headache and frustration, she vigorously ruffled her hair. With a disheveled head, she yelled towards the room next door: "Mianmian! Stop facing the wall! Come out, go downstairs and call the doctor grandpa from the clinic!"
The door next door quickly opened, and relieved from the punishment, Mianmian happily responded, ran to the door, put on her pink shoes, and skipped downstairs.
Shi Su's face was clouded over, her mind filled with an unpleasant feeling like she had been fooled. Yet, seeing the man's injuries and his serenely closed eyelids, she rolled her eyes in exasperation and reluctantly adjusted his body to lay flat on the bed. Carefully, she began to peel off the blood-stained bandages.
"Why is there so much blood again?" She quickly stood up and hurried to the bathroom to fetch a towel.
Just a few steps away, she suddenly stopped, whipping her head back to look at the man on the bed. Observing his pale yet unblemished handsome face, the sleeping man's complexion was even more pallid than before.
His blood-soaked suit and shirt from earlier, unavailable on the market, were made from high-end fabrics she had occasionally seen abroad. His clothes were obviously custom-tailored handcrafted pieces. Such a wealthy and handsome man shouldn't have any malicious intentions towards her and her daughter, right?
It seems indeed there's nothing to worry about.
She was no longer the same person she was five years ago; there wasn't really anything valuable on her now.
