Just like that, when Rami is leaving. Salvatore joined him. Even if Salvatore's men have many complaints.
Their complaints went nowhere as Salvatore dismissed every single one of them. On top of that, he announced that he would be taking a long break. A proper vacation. He needed time to relax and to celebrate, since one of their greatest nemeses had unexpectedly been taken down—the very target Rami had handled.
And besides, he was the boss. They had no choice but to comply.
Well, what can the others do?
Nothing.
The worst part is, Salvatore's brother, Gabriel, agreed happily and he fully supported Salvatore's decision.
He even made it appear as though Salvatore would personally join him, gaining more hands-on experience in the process.
Experience his ass.
Rami simply complied. No matter what excuse he came up with, he couldn't outmatch the brothers. Whatever he did to refuse them, it wouldn't work anymore.
So when he boarded the plane for his next destination, he was accompanied by numerous bodyguards—and by Salvatore, dressed in an eye-catching, uniquely colored fur-lined outfit and sunglasses.
Very stylish.
Rami could only press his fingers to his temples and sigh with resignation.
"Idiot. You really went with me. I'm not going on vacation, just so you know. I have something I need to finish. Look at this long list. Aish!!" Rami complained immediately to Salvatore when they sat on their assigned seats inside the plane while he brought out the paper that had the list of his mission.
Salvatore took off his shades and then looked at Rami with a mischievous smile, "I'm here now. There's nothing you can do anymore."
After that, Salvatore laughed and patted Rami's shoulder.
"Okay, fine." Rami knew there was nothing he could do, so this time, he chose to comply.
This kind of situation was acceptable, anyway. At least he would have someone with him on every trip to the places where his targets were stationed. It wasn't so bad having someone by his side while carrying out his missions.
With Salvatore around, he wouldn't feel lonely. He would simply treat it as if they were traveling the world together with Salvatore accompanying him every step of the way.
As for his brothers.
Rami was fairly certain they wouldn't find out, since no one knew that Salvatore was his best friend. If anyone ever discovered that he had someone accompanying him, he would simply say that Salvatore was a friend he had met during one of his travels.
He would explain that he often felt lonely while traveling, so he invited him along for company.
Anyway, they won't bother much as if they really do care. They will ask once, analyse it then that's it.
Nothing much will happen.
He'll just face another slighter punishment from them.
That's fine, he can face it.
"So, where are we going?" Salvatore asks Rami while sipping on his Matcha Milk Tea that they ordered from the flight attendant a while ago.
"To Brazil." Rami answered while he bites on the croissant that he is now holding.
"Ow? Then I wanted to visit their Iguacu Falls, Pantanal, and Rio De Janeiro." Salvatore said animatedly at Rami.
Rami sweatdrops seeing his excited best friend, "Hold your horses. Told you, I'm not travelling. But if you want to visit those places, you will cooperate with me in doing my mission. The faster I get it done, the earlier it gets finished."
Salvatore nodded, "That's why I came with you, to help you. Except of course for sightseeing. Hahaha!!"
The two travel almost around the world as the people listed in Rami's mission came from different countries.
Thankfully his brothers gave Rami a fair big amount of cash to use or he will get bankrupt. Especially with him now travelling together with Salvatore. Of course, with a companion, he will enjoy every country.
Rami, who had many complaints when he received his punishment, is now happily travelling. Not really minding his purpose in every country he goes to. Just treating it as a small errand in between his sightseeings. That's why after Rami and Salvatore finished doing the mission, they immediately found a brochure of that palace and planned their tour to visit the said place's famous tourist destinations and try their unique foods they can offer.
Unknowingly, they travel for three months until they finish the long list. T
They didn't even notice that three months had already passed by. Indicating how enjoyable their travelling was.
When Rami crossed the name of the last name on his list, he looked at Salvatore disappointedly, "We just finished the last one."
"Already?" Salvatore asks with disappointment as well.
"Ahuh!!"
"Ow. Too bad. Then you will go back now?"
At Salvatore's question, Rami suddenly went silent.
He remembered that a certain situation was waiting for him. One he would have to face once he returned, no matter how much he tried to deny or avoid it.
Seeing Rami's hesitation, Salvatore retorted with a raised brow, "What? Chickening out? You know you can't deny it."
Rami shakes his head, "What no. I just got caught for a moment."
"Then you will go back?" Salvatore asks certainly. Warningly.
"Salvy, can I go back with you? I miss Gabriel." Rami held Salvatore's arm, pushed his body towards the latter and said coquettishly.
Salvatore clicks his tongue with disgust as he looks at Rami. He then pushes Rami's forehead with his free hand away from him, "I knew it. No. Not gonna happen. You need to go home now since I'm sure, by this time, your Eldest Brother has already received the news that you're already done."
"Ehh Salvy. I don't have the courage yet to go back." Rami whined slightly.
"Rami, you need to go back and face it. You NEED to GET IT DONE!! You are the only one who can solve your problem. The Rami that I know is not a coward. If they don't accept you again and are really angry with you, at least you know you won't give up and you'll find a way to get back to them again. As much as I hated to accept it, you don't want Dark to start disliking and hating you, right? I know you're thick skinned sometimes. Your patience is incomparable. You can endure. I'm sure you do. I'm so sure nothing bad will happen." Salvatore said patiently to Rami.
Silence surrounds the area. Salvatore looks at Rami straight into his face.
After a long pause, Rami finally answered with a small voice, "Then I hope so."
Salvatore smiled. He touches Rami's face and pulls him with a slight hug for a while. After that he pushed him a little to distance him away, still his arms were holding the letters shoulder he asked, "So, you will go back now, right?"
After a while of silence again.
Then, Rami nodded.
Salvatore's smile widened, "That's good. I know you understand what I want to say. Don't worry, I'll always be by your side. Just give me a call Rami when you really can't hold on any longer. I will fly towards you immediately."
