Tessa found out about Faye's plans to set up the research institute rather late.
She was very shocked and looked at Faye in confusion, asking, "My mom's condition is already better. You originally agreed to sponsor Simon's project. Why are you now considering spending so much money to set up a research institute?"
Faye said calmly, "Simon mentioned that one surgery might not be enough. He estimates that a second surgery might be needed in half a year, so I must ensure the surgery's success. Besides, supporting medical endeavors is something you said was noble and loving."
Tessa frowned, "But it doesn't have to be this way. You'll make me feel really guilty."
Faye pinched her cheek, "What I want is not your guilt."
Tessa looked at him softly, her voice buzzing, "Then thank you, tell me, how do you want me to thank you?"
Faye's eyes lit up slightly, and the smile on his lips deepened, "I don't want your thanks either. I just hope that you'll stay with me, forever and ever."
