Chapter 7 - Chapter 7: Her Physical Condition Is Special, She Must Not Come to Harm

He paused slightly in his steps and glanced back at the interrogation room.

"Don't appear in front of her; she might take it easier."

"..." Does that imply he's shockingly ugly?

"Boss, isn't that a personal attack?"

Tang Si licked his lips and chuckled lightly, lazily putting his hands in his pockets: "This girl is a bit special. I won't go into details, but she might have suffered psychological trauma when she was young."

He tilted his head gently, his eyes carrying a lazy smile: "Don't hang around in front of her too much. She's my key suspect now. If anything happens, just see how I'll deal with you."

The tone seemed joking yet also carried a cautionary note.

He's always like this, giving orders in a relaxed manner, not forceful.

He gives off a feeling that he's easy to get along with, but over time, a sense of distance and aloofness emerges. No one can truly enter his world.

After speaking, he glanced sideways at Zhou Liang: "But you're quite self-aware."

Zhou Liang: "???"

"Aware of being ugly."

Leaving that remark, he was already walking away.

Damn! Would it kill him not to be sarcastic for one day!

...

The night was as deep and thick as wine, the sky shadowed as if drenched in ink; at the Criminal Police Squad, the lights were still on.

From afar, the thin fog resembled a layer of dark gauze, shrouding the solemn and stern building.

"Is there any hot water?"

"Officer, could you have an officer in plain clothes bring it, please?"

"I'm a bit cold; is there a blanket?"

The woman sitting in the chair had fair skin, her face slightly flushed as if soaked in rouge—not from shyness, but from restraint.

Her complexion wasn't good; under the dim lighting, being all alone made her seem even more fragile.

It felt as if something was tightly binding her insides; deep fear was fiercely attacking her heart, mind, and entire being, like a bomb buried within, ready to explode at any moment.

She kept calling for people, kept talking, but no one noticed anything amiss about her.

They would only frown, thinking this woman was troublesome and demanding.

Tang Si instructed to try to meet her needs as much as possible.

They didn't know why, and could only comply.

In the Criminal Police Squad, people were busy coming and going past the office, while Tang Si looked up from a pile of documents, watching the hustle and bustle.

After a while.

He abruptly stood up, walked out, and grabbed someone: "What's keeping you busy?"

The person replied: "Song Yi, one moment she wants this, another she wants that."

He couldn't help but complain: "I've never seen anyone as nagging as her."

Simply a pain in the neck.

Is she a suspect or an ancestor?

Tang Si pressed his lips lightly, contemplating for a while.

Then he patted the person's shoulder: "Her physical condition is special, we can't afford any problems. Thank you for your hard work."

His gaze settled on the blanket in the person's hand: "Give it to me, you take a break."

"Boss, how can this..."

Tang Si chuckled, sizing him up, speaking in a leisurely tone: "Why can't I? Do you have gold hidden in the blanket or something?"

"No, no, then thanks for your hard work, boss."

Over there, Song Yi just felt it hard to endure, her hands and feet were cold.

Suddenly, the door was pushed open, and Song Yi bit her lip, looking toward the door.

Tang Si paused in his steps, his gaze seemingly piercing through his chest.

The frail woman had such a gaze?

Hopeful, pitiful, yet also restrained and composed.

She was really uncomfortable, but she didn't want others to see her like this. She was a perfectionist, hence the restraint.
