Vera was getting tired and so was the beast, they both moved back. The beast was weighing its option while Vera was thinking of a way to kill it. If Sam was in my position what will he do? I think he will look for the spirit beasts weak point, but where is the weak point of this rhino every thing I throw at it looks like I did to a rock. Vera started observing the rhino, she noticed there was an injury to the underside of the rhino. I never attacked this part so how come is it injured there. Oh I remember now it slid and fell on my ice it most have injured itself during the fall but that fall was not quiet bad. Seems the underside is weaker in defence than the rest of its body.with this Vera fighting spirit was raised.
Vera knew that, knowing the weakness of a spirit beast was one thing but taking advantage of such weakness was quiet another. She decided on a plan and resumed her fight, but after the fall the spirit beast was weary of attacking Vera directly as it has observed it always pays some kind of price, once it misses. It decided to keep its distance and throw rocks at Vera. The fight became boring and dragged. It became a battle of patience and tactics. When Vera noticed this she became frustrated. She remembered the meticulous planning Sam had to put together to capture the hawks. I need to set up traps for this beast with that Vera started taking in spirit energy into her body while throwing as little as she could of spiked ice at the spirit beast. She did this to build up her energy.
After a while Vera came up with a plan she decided to freeze the ground where they were battling making it as smooth as she could this reduced the friction greatly affecting the rhino. The rhino had no choice but to retreat to higher ground Vera smiled soon she unfroze the ground and send ice shaped inform of blades at the rhino this forced the rhino higher into the slope of the mountain, it was a dangerous climb for the rhino but it was ignorant of the fact that what Vera wanted was to attack it's underneath after climbing to about a sixty eight feet Vera froze the slope forcing the rhino to slide down at a great speed at the same time she rained it with frozen swords from above forcing the rhino to increase its speed of decent. All this happened in matter of seconds, and the rhino landed with its four legs before collapsing on its belly.
Bones was surprised as to why the beast collapsed, he did not understand what happened. He looked at Sam what happened is the battle over? How is it possible for the rhino to collapse while it still had some energy left. Sam laughed, let us go and observe what happened they both approached the rhino Sam asked bones to check what happened. Bones exerted a lot of strength to turn the spirit beast as it was massive. What bone saw left him speechless, under the rhino were dozens of spiked ice pierced into the belly of the rhino. This ice were thick and long they were long enough to pierce the rhino even though it landed on its legs. On collapsing the rhino received a more critical blow that lead to his death. Bones looked at Vera and was shaken, he was wondering if he was the one fighting Vera, what would have happened to him? He was sure he would under rate her because he had a higher cultivation and so stronger than her. That would have meant his death, the battle opened up many possibility to Bones. How he could use his element yo compliment the sword technique Sam gave him.
Sam went and helped Vera up she was on the ground having exerted herself to kill the spirit beast. Vera, you will have to clean the spirit beast you killed it so you handle the cleaning when you finish put all materials into your storage ring Sam went forward took the heart and beast core. After Vera finished cleaning the beast, they all moved further into the wilderness. Sam turned to bones, it is time to apply what you learnt. Bones mind skipped, he did not want to disappoint Sam again by performing poorly. Bones this time you will be fighting a serpent beast you can start devising a plan to handle it. Bones nodded, he walked behind Sam and was in deep thought. Bones disadvantage was he had never studied about spirit beasts and does not know their week points. It was like he was going into the battle blind.
Sam and his friends came to the serpents lair the serpent was green in colour and seemed to blend in well with its environment. The humans only noticed because the hawks in the sky cawed, this alerted Sam, who asked bones to do his work. Bones drew his sword and gently approached the serpent what he didnt know was that he was within reach of the serpents tail, the serpent was intelligent for a spirit beast. It positioned it's head so as to convince its enemies its tail is at the other end while its actually at the opposite side. Ken spoke to Sam [You and your friends are about to learn a valuable lesson]. Sam became vigilant all of a sudden bones was sent flying and was injured that was when they really saw the serpent was a rank three beast. [Sam not all things are as they seem, even when fighting a kid an extra caution will not kill]. Sam immediately picked up bones to retreat with the rest but the serpent will not let them.
Sam was put under great pressure by the beast, it saw bones as it's meal and was determined to have him. Sam feed a healing pill to bones and threw him to the direction of the hawk. The hawk lifted bones to the sky and out of the reach of the serpent beast. Sam was in trouble although he knew he had guards who will not let him die. But he would be severely injured before they would intervene. Vera tried freezing the ground around the serpent to hinder its movements but only helped it become faster. The serpent was an ice user. Sam had to parry it's tail attacks as he moved, his hands where numbed. He never planned on fighting a serpent at the peak of rank three for now. Luke immediately started errecting walls of earth to take some of the blows for Sam.
The earth walls reduced the pressure on Sam which helped him retreat and take a stand. Ken why didn't you tell me that the serpent beast was a peak rank three beast. I could have died you know [Sam since when are you afraid of death, you have been having things a little easy. what if I am not available at the time or I have to keep quiet. You have to develop your instincts and learn to listen to your guts.
