The Mystery Man Pov
Only the glare of the displays hugged the Serpent Organizations tech room, casting a shadow and giving off a faint glow that was barely enough to see but sufficient to comprehend the code sequences running. The atmosphere was quite thick with a low, continuous machine hum, longer cables had taken to the floor as if they were the veins of the iron system behind them. People dressed in black suits walked swiftly among the desks, they kept their voices low, their eyes alert and their movement as routine as if performing some ritual.
The main engineer with pale skin, slicked back hair, and his glasses mirroring the data that was flowing down the screens, was doing his work right at the middle place of the room, in front of the compilation of monitors. His fingers were flicking the keyboard as he was trying to follow the encryption concealed in the little icon blinking red on the screen.
He was shocked and his air caught in his throat.
