Chapter 80 - TORREN PLANS

Looking at the cashier seeing Meg, "Sorry, Meg, I didn't recognize you there, as you can see, dad and the children are with me."

"Mr. Mac Carty, how are you?" Meg ask politely.

"I am good, child, and how have you been keeping?"

"We are doing well, so where are you staying in town?"

"We are staying by the guest house," Torren said.

"Mr. Mac Carty you seem to like that guest house very much, you visit twice for the year."

"Well, my dear child, "I support the people I know and Shawney has been good to me."

When Torren said, "Meg, why don't you come over for dinner, and you pass on the message to the others?"

"Torren, Shawney might be displeased if we show up at her place."

"Now why would she be displeased, you are my invited guest so don't worry be there for five, and what time are you closing up here Meg?"

"I close for four."

"Great, then five is good and the children could have some time to play together, and Meg please don't forget to tell the others, I will be waiting."

Watching them walk away thinking, 'Why doesn't he understand, Shawney has been so displeased with our behavior.

And besides that the way we behave at his home, why would he still want us to come and have dinner with him?'

Thinking about it now, 'And why would he buy a dress for Shawney, is Shawney and Torren seeing each other?

But then Uncle Robert words came to mind, 'He said when she gave what she has, God bless her with better things.

I can see that every time we meet up, we see her being bless, and he didn't hesitate a minute to pay for the dress.

If only I could get a few customers like him for the day, the business will definitely boost up and flourish.

Maybe I should start going to church, look at Shawney, she doesn't ask people to buy a thing for her, they just do and they buy her the best.'

Going to the car, "Son, Shawney is very uncomfortable with them around her."

"Dad, when we return home she won't see them for a while, they need to put their indifferences aside and make peace.

Today we are here, and we don't know what tomorrow may holds. I don't want her to have any regrets."

"You are right my son, but remember you inviting people for dinner, so where are you getting food to accommodates all of them?"

"Dad, I am sure at the reception desk they can help us with information to a good caterer."

"Yeah, you are right."

Half one we had gotten a shoe as Tray gift, hugging Gretta Torren ask, "And what my baby girl wants to get for her mummy gift?"

"I want ice cream daddy, and cake."

"Ooh yes, I had already forgotten, but we will need more cake, honey."

Resting all the bags in the trunk, then dad decided to buy lunch. Reading the name of the restaurant before entering. Recalling one name in the deed was DK'S Restaurant.

When dad places the order then the waitress bought us glasses of juice, and another waitress brought a plate of appetizers for us. Hearing Dad telling the waitress, "I didn't order those appetizers."

"I know Sir, but the manager instructed me to bring it over, it complement to the house. "Well, will you extend our thanks to the Manager and the house?"

Torren looks around to see who the manager was, knowing the restaurant is in Shawney name. 'Well, whosoever is the manager they recognize us.'

After we completed our lunch, dad drives around, the two children were just so happy to point out the statues and beautiful buildings.

Hearing Tray said, "Daddy, look a police car, Dad had to tell them. 'It was the Police station,' pointing out the police station, and where the police cars and jeep parked up.

Seeing the park and promenade, with the children playing get them even more excited.

As dad drives over the spring bridge the two children were hugging our neck squealing in our ear, the way they were scared.

Dad was just talking so they will not cry, but the bridge were swerving and rocking. I was even scared myself.

I could not laugh because it was my first time in a spring bridge, but it was a nice experience, scary but nice.

It wasn't the same route we took when we leave the village, I know dad wanted the children to see the beautiful sights.

My Gretta could not stop the chattering which seems to make dad very happy, especially when she keep saying Papa, to get his attention.

The drive to the village was longer but very exciting for the children. Entering the village seeing a major junction.

As I read the signs, asking dad to drive in the direction of Paradise Avenue, "Dad where do you think that road will take us?"

Seeing him drive into the street, in less than five minutes, dad wasn't driving fast so the children could enjoy the view.

When Dad turns right, seeing it had a road going left as we drive past, I see this house, not too big, it was a wooden structure, the property was well maintained.

It had beautiful flowers around the house glimpsing Sid, "Dad stops the car, it seems Shawney brother is living here?"

Seeing dad reverse then stop, as he pops the horn. Seeing Joyce came out and Sid was walking towards the front. Torren came out with the two children. "Dad, you coming?"

"You go ahead I will be right back, I am going to see where that road leads to and tomorrow we could explore."

Watching him turn around and drive away, hearing Joyce calling out to Maria, "We have a guest."

When Sid call Daniel and Maria call out to CJ, Sid invited us to come and sit down. "Sorry, I cannot stay, but I met Meg earlier at the store extending a dinner invitation to all the family.

I wasn't sure I will see you all, but please accept my invitation and send word to Shantel and Julien for this evening for five please."

"So Torren, where are you staying?" Sid asks.

"We rented two rooms at Shawney place."

"Look Torren, I don't think Shawney will agree to this dinner at her place?"

"Hello, you are my guest this has nothing to do with Shawney, and as you see my children will like the company, we are here just for a week, and I have to return to the factory."

Seeing the puzzled look but just then dad return, "Tell Curtis for me please and you'll bring the children early so they can play on the slides. Oh Sid it's for five o clock."
