The Celtic music from pipes and drums made everyone dance. I was enjoying the moment when a I felt a gentle tug on my arm. It was Athena, pulling me quickly through the crowd of people. We came to an open space in the middle, and you could feel the excitement in the air, as if everyone was waiting for something to happen.
Athena gently pushed me to the center, and I looked up. A beautiful orb was floating above us. It glowed with a soft, swirling mix of pink and light blue light. Its glow pulsed like a slow heartbeat, shining down directly at me and on all the faces watching from the crowd. It was here to choose my partner for the ceremony.
I felt a shiver of nervous excitement as the orb began to float down toward me. But in an instant, just as it got close, everything went completely dark.
